TSL Kurashiki TN | Customization Process

Thank you for sharing your experience at TSL! I've been wondering how's it's going to be since I planned my trip for later this year! I may have missed it in the video but I was wondering how much extra did you have to pay for all your customizations? Thanks!

Thanks for watching! I didn't include it in the video because I thought I threw away my receipt, but I actually managed to dig it up while I was trying to reply to your comment! All of the customizations cost me ~15,000 yen (~112 USD with today's exchange rate), and that was on top of the cost of the TN, which was 5,280 yen (~39 USD). About half of the customization cost was the leather pockets/insert part. Definitely an investment, but I was prepared to splurge during this trip, and especially at TSL Kurashiki. Lovely video, very informative! Do you happen to know if TSL makes custom wallets, like, on the spot? Their leather wallets are top notch, but I have specific dimensions and design for the wallet that I want.

Thanks for watching! I don't think the TSL customization service applies to wallets - from what I know, this service is only for new traveler's notebooks.

Hello, I was able to get a similar passport sized cover and it’s stamped with the same Kurashiki white as yours. Within a week, the white has started coming off. Has yours as well?

Mine has smudged a little, too! I carried it out with me in a tote and I think the TN leather brushed against the canvas tote material too much. I’ve decided to embrace it as part of patina, but I believe carrying it in a pouch should help!

I used the TSL website's contact form, which you can find all the way at the bottom of the home page (nap-dog.com). They got back to me in a day or two from what I remember. I hope you have the best time during your future visit!
