I will be chapped if they trade Pettersson and keep Miller. I want the Nucks to get their cheeks clapped and having them keep the soft, 11.6 million dollar liability is key to that happening. As a bonus, we will get to watch Canucks fans rip on Petey as he fails to live up to his contract in addition to losing the team JT Miller. It will be glorious.

People talk about international competition and the players getting injured and pretending that's a legitimate concern for owners. I was on the owners side for the CBA disputes that took place in the 2000s. But here's where the owners are just flat out being greedy and stupid, and it's the same overstep that the PGA was having and why LIV happened... YOU DON'T OWN PEOPLE. "Oh JT got hurt playing in Sochi, was out the year, the Islanders got screwed"... fantastic. JT would have gotten hurt playing for the Islanders. Injuries happen because injuries happen; they don't happen because owners don't account for Murphy's law and have to control everything about their "asset's" lives. This is why World Juniors is always a fun tournament, and the Stanley Cup playoff entertainment value absolutely rots after the first round... cuz sports is taken way too seriously. If a sport is a source of revenue for someone, then it will AUTOMATICALLY LOSE entertainment value simply because it gets taken a lot more seriously than it should be. And you WILL NOT GROW THE GAME if you treat it as a coal mine. It will stagnate, and the moment a purer product comes along, people will ditch it. Which is what happened with LIV when players got treated like rock stars and not like "Tour assets" for corporations to earn income.

Oh good, we have another Jack Gordon here. Gordon, kiddo, was the GM of the Canucks who traded Cam Neely for a guy with half an arm. Barry Pederson had just had cancer surgery and part of the muscle in his arm was removed. He was coming off a 100 point season. He never scored more than 76 after that. The rest you can google. Some fans are just ridiculous. I miss the 90s when social media didn't exist and people didn't throw out their toxic, rash ideas to the entire world.
