My hope is that maybe McDavid pulls the Sidney Crosby thing, and gives us a bit of a hometown discount to give the team enough space to surround him with a winning formula.

Reality is that Draisaitl wants back pay and he deserves a good contract. Will definitely get 13M max term. Problem is mcdavid is going to take max $ when he resigns and Bouchard is going to get overpaid too. 3 guys making near 40M They need to move Nurse and Kanes contract asap to win while they have this 2 year window before cap hell

Every hockey pundit screamed it was an overpay, oilers fans were elated at that deal knowing he was likely only getting better. Edmonton does not see the value of defence , they have no money left to sign Brobert . They don't have another defenceman who has so much potential. And Edmonton lost because the inability to get out of their end ,and giveaways in their End. Hard to get your offence going when you are running around in your own end. That Edmonton didn't trade one or two D and get a D like Montour to compliment Eckholm, , Brobert and Bouchard . That they left Brobert hanging , not good at all.
