Chris Johnston reveals that Joseph Woll underwent an MRI on Friday after he was seen leaving Thursday night's game on crutches, he also adds that is unlikely to be a short-term injury considering the circumstances.

If Samsonov produces a few lack lustre efforts the Leafs may have to consider bringing Kalgreen up .He played quite well last year when Samsonov and Murray were both hurt ( although the LEafs D was much better then ) .However that would mean Samsonov would have to clear waivers to go down and it is doubtful he would clear

If earlier than expected great news . I don't think it's going to be. How many Goaltenders have suffered from the style of the butterfly from a very young age. Say you want about standup style or the flopper . It seems to be more groins, knee, and hip injuries . Leaf prospect ended his career due to similar injuries . Let's hope this is not the case for Woll. He stole Rob that game from Ottawa hands down last night By far, best Leaf to date this year

He has far, far better numbers than either of the other goalies on the team. Jones was the third best goalie on a team that played three goalies.

Especially since Jones hasn't done nearly as well in that lesser league. He had a sub 900 save percentage against minor league talent. What can we expect from him against seasoned NHL veterans?

@@kenludlow7391 I see nothing to lose with Treliving waiving Samsonov in favour of calling up Hildeby, Vyacheslav Peksa or Keith Petruzzelli. No goalie under contract to the Leafs, whether on the NHL roster or down with the minors, bar Samsonov, has a per-season cap hit of even US$1 million (vs Samsonov's eye-popping, considering his having often after last preseason having been a sieve, US$3.55 million [thankfully for this season only, after which Treliving should just let Sammy walk into unrestricted free agency unless another NHL team wants to get a heads-up on acquiring from the Leafs Sammy's negotiating rights]). Ken Holland, who'd acquired 2 offseasons ago Jack Campbell, last month waived said goalie, with Campbell having cleared waivers to go down to the Oilers' Bakersfield, California-based AHL affiliate (Condors).

To be fair, Leafs defense has left Samsonov out to dry many many times. Leafs need to fix a lot of areas of their game. Ship out one of the core 4 and use that money to bring in a couple capable defenders .
