I currently own a Hayabusa and a classic GSXR 1100 and have owned many other big modified bikes. Most of the time I would rather ride my Z125. It's the most fun bike I've ever had. I don't imagine there's much difference between the Z and the Grom. Biggest modification upgrade I did would be wider tires. They made the Z feel like a big bike. Either way you can't go wrong!
@govnor14957 жыл бұрын
Front is 120/70/12 and rear is 140/60/12 Pirelli Synergy. They are the only tire where you can go wider on the back but keep the same height. Stock wheels, no problem. MPG is around the same at 1OOmpg. Safety is not an issue running this tire. The width is not that much different, but you do notice more stability and less flickability. It makes the bike way more stable at speed, which to me is safer. The wheel width is irrelevant.

Enjoyed the review about the nuances of the two. I’m a z125 pro owner and it’s all in all a fun machine truly it is. The construction is solid and they do take a beating. BUT I’ll go on to say that they were not designed to be ridden on major highways with high speed limits where the engine is being subjected to long periods of time at top end driving. City and neighborhood yes for sure. At 4400 miles my Z125 required a total rebuild on the block from crank to valves it was beaten to death from top end abuse and burned. Also the 02 sensor wore out. All is now new again and Kawasaki paid the bill but also said they wouldn’t do it again if it happened which kind of shook me but the 1 year warranty expired anyway. Beyond that I like both bikes lots of mods for them and like was stated parts for the Kawasaki were tough to get at first but now they are plentiful. I’ve retained my bike 100% stock and haven’t changed it. Thanks for sharing the video guys I enjoyed watching it and will look at what other content you have too!

@TSTindustries2 жыл бұрын
That is a very subjective question. What I can offer is this. The small 125 bikes in this video are extremely user friendly, and tolerant of mistakes. They burn very little fuel. When you crash them they take on minimal damage, parts are very inexpensive, and you aren't going very fast therefore minimizing bodily injury potential. They are not allowed on the fast highways so that keeps you out of big trouble. I believe that the choice will have to be yours, just get all the facts in so you can make an educated one.

I'm sorry to put "hate" out there in the comments bc i truly do love TST industries and Bart is a great guy, but I cannot stand Mark....personally, the less videos he is in the better lol...he honestly doesn't seem very knowledgeable, or charismatic. Just not really the type of guy that should be on the frontlines in videos explaining things. Just my opinion. keep killing it at TST industries though guys, I'm sure ill be ordering some more parts from you soon

I normally ignore comments like these because let's face it, after working here for 7 years and putting my heart and soul into everything I do, I've realized you really can't please everyone. But after reading your comments specifically, which happen to only be on videos with me, it's clear I must have upset you. You alright man, need to vent? The funny part is, if you've ever contacted us, there's a 99% chance you spoke with me directly. But I guess I don't know anything 🤷🏽♂️ Don't worry bub, I'll be in as many videos as I can from now on, just to get your views and engagement. 😘

What happened with z125? Its no longer the same bike

Hey, so I'm a taller guy, wondering if the Grom would be comfortable. How tall are you exactly for reference??
@TSTindustries6 жыл бұрын
John Hutchinson I am neither of the two guys in the video but I own the yellow Grom portrayed. I am 6'0" and I am comfortable on the Grom. I use it as a pit bike at races, use it as a drift/dirt bike at track events in between sessions, and give rides to my daughter around my neighborhood. The Grom is a great fun bike in a compact size.

I am 59 this year do you think a grom is good for older riders?
@TSTindustries6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The Grom and Z125 are great for riders all ages with all types of riding experience.

I'm 67 and I use it for commuting 2 miles to work. I can park it in very little space and even on the back patio without anyone complaining.

Nice, just the comment I was looking for. I'm also 5'9" n am looking to get a Z125. Originally I wanted the Grom until I saw an all black Z with red wheels at my dealer and immediately loved it

Pk... the reason I ask is that traditionally the small 4 stroke Honda motors seem to have a little more power than their competitors.
@TSTindustries6 жыл бұрын
I think the best form of research you can do on the subject is going through SFLminiGP results and see which bikes are the winningest (if that's a word).

At 5.6 does his knees hits the bars on the z125

What are the two of you wearing?
@TSTindustries6 жыл бұрын
The suits used in the video are made by RST. The normal outfits are of the riders own choosing including the undersuits/socks.

I have a ‘15 zuma 125. Thinking of trading dealer for Grom. I can’t decide. Both are great but the Grom’s been out longer. Honestly the zuma sucks. Great scoot but won’t idle for sh*t.... yamaha cannot make fuel injection for sh*t. Took it 3 times to the dealer. Says it idles from 350-1100 rpm’s. Definitely not normal but dealer says it’s within spec. Nothing wrong they said. Changed everything from plug to wire. Nothing. Just have to live with it

The exhaust pipe is customized or find at the shop?
@TSTindustries6 жыл бұрын
Both bikes had off the shelf exhaust systems.

I have someone locally selling a 2018 Z125 with 1100 miles on it for $2100 and another local guy selling his 2015 Honda grom with only 70 miles on it for the same price! which should i get!? ..both are bone stock
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
It comes down to personal preference. I like the Grom myself. That is what I would go for. At $2100 both deals are a steal. Grom has more aftermarket parts available so there is good opportunity for customization.

I'd love to do a 250cc 4 stroke conversion for it. Do they sell conversion kits
@tomspaulding43214 жыл бұрын
Graham is a 125 it is needed for that specific cubic inches size motor you cannot then go and put a 250 mL which equals a much higher or excuse me but more in area the point is is that a 125 four stroke bike cannot fit a 250 motor in it they’re both four strokes one motor is bigger than the other that’s like taking a 125cc two-stroke you put in a 250 two-stroke motor in it or taking it 250 F and putting a 500 motor or even 450 It’s apples and oranges if it was a two-stroke I would understand
@sumodeligiannis40734 жыл бұрын
Tom Spaulding for the grom they make conversion kits to put in a cbr 250 motor. It is a 250 4 stroke 6 speed.

What does the fact that there is padding on the pegs have to do with it being a single cylinder bike?
@marklourido28263 жыл бұрын
Quite a bit, but mainly the fact that single cylinder motors tend to be more "thumpy" and the rubber on the rearsets lessens the vibrations felt in your feet by a lot. But again, what do I know? 😂😘
@TheRibbonAce4 жыл бұрын
Damn, I stopped riding after 12 years in 2017. My R1 ended up sitting in a garage the last 4 years besides track days. These look ridiculous but it could be a blast on those tight turns. If it can make it up the 4k foot climb to get to the tight roads that is. 😂

You are going to have to see a dealer about that. We don't sell the bikes here. We just make parts for them.

Do another video with both bikes and 15 or 20 riders, and put it to a vote. Subjectively, which bike wins in a small sample group?
