I've owned a Razkull for about a month now. Absolutely love it. I upgraded the Carb, Manifold, deleted the air box, added an air filter, and went with an M4 Exhaust. Can run 70 +mph on flat ground, and I weigh 190 pounds. Would readily recommend. I find myself on the Razkull far more than I am on my ZZR600.

I love my OG 2015 Grom and i had fun upgrading it to I put a intake pod filter full two brothers exhaust DCR camshaft and Power commander 5 with the Auto tune kit and had it dyno tuned and now it has 13.4 HP and i top out at 74mph without full tucking im 185LBS and i can go up hills at 65 in a tuck no problem next im going to do the oil spinner delete kit and might go up to a 16 tooth drive sprocket and if i have a extra 1200 bucks i might get the BST carbon fiber rims to see if i can get past 80mph without hitting the rev limiter. So for another 1000 bucks you can wake up this little motor to do so much more without spending 2500 buck for a big bore kit that might blow up lol.
@joshmayne28538 жыл бұрын
so you bought a 125cc for $3200. put $1000 into and now it's as fast as a 250cc. you've spent the same money as if you'd just bought a 250cc to begin with. but now you've maxed out the 125 whereas if you'd started with a 250 you'd have a lot more to go.

Im not from the US but i can tell you why. You can do Car license and Motocycle License at age 16 and you can drive everything you want basically. Thats why you dont need 125's there.
@carmelorafaeldtansengco14627 жыл бұрын
It's always been that way with the US market. During the 80's, a lot of Japanese home market bikes were tested by magazines like Cycle, Cycle World, Motorcyclist and Cycle Guide. I have the November 1984 issue of CW and the September 1984 issue of CG. A lot of road test editors were just itching to have those bikes sold in your market but they would have been too expensive. Cycle had a special article on the Yamaha FZ250 Phazer and FZ400 in their March 1986 issue. Those bikes were actually owned by no less than the king himself, Kenny Roberts.
@ndperson17 жыл бұрын
Akiimo actually it is because of California laws. They have a law where a bike has to have 17 hp to be on the highway, and they don't even like the bikes that aren't legal there to arrive at their dock, so the Asian makers don't bother since that is the port

I live in Cambodia where almost everyone rides 125cc because you don't need any sort of licence for it. I have a z125 but will be switching to a grom sf (marketed here as msx125 sf) in the near future. The only thing that annoys me about both bikes is that they are slower than the Honda Click 125i, which is a popular scooter for schoolgirls/teenagers here. I don't get it. Why are these bikes slower than some of the cheaper 125 scooter counterparts?

I think that they should have mentioned the reliability of SSR's pit bikes that have been around for awhile; frame breaks, swing arm breaks, etc. No way I would drop my money on something that will most likely cause you issues, and is also likely to be gone once Ducati sues them for design infringement. They should have also mentioned that Kawasaki and Kymco have a partnership now. They don't share designs, yet, but manufacturing. The Kawasaki, although a Japanese design and brand, is built in China. Luckily though, it is to Kawasaki's standards from my understanding.

This is how fun 125s should be, tiny, lightweight and fun. Not fake sportsbikes/cruisers which are just 11-14hp commuters in frocks. This type of bike plays to the strengths of the 125 making them fun even after you have a full licence to ride a 'real' sports or cruise bike.

I'm 6.2 Do you think the small ones, with a good set of tires would give confidence and provide enough fun in a go kart racetrack (do they scrape the pegs easily?)
@ThaSideWeed4 жыл бұрын
As long as you set the suspension up for the weight of who is riding it and the environment, should be fun, don't see the problem. That's what inspires confidence first and foremost. Even if you have the best tires for that environment, if the bike wobbles, squats instantly, bounces and dives instantly when a moderate amount of brakes are applied, doesn't matter what tires you have.

The SSR looks really cool and I think it is time we started taking some of the Chinese manufactured bikes more serious in terms of quality. sSR has been around a few years, so hopefully there is at least a decent level of parts and service support. I still would have reservations about buying and owning one when I know Honda and Kawi are around for the long haul. Even Kymco is establisged enough where I have little concern about them. The K-Pipe, though, just doesn't have the same personality as the little wheel bikes. As a goofy play bike, I see no appeal in it. For me, it comes down to the Honda and Kawi. I already am a Grom owner (2015), so clearly I am a little biased. Despite the Kawi not being available when I bought my Grom and now the 2017 Grom is out, I'd still go with the 2015 Grom. The new stepped seat on the 2017 doesn't work for me. I would actually prefer the Kawi were it not for the ergos being terrible for my 6'1" frame, pegs are just too high. These bikes are addicting if you find them to be captivating. It is not hard, if you have the bankroll, to sink more than double the msrp on the bike and upgrades. I have and can't say I regret it.

You can't take any Chinese manufacturing serious, it is all cheap garbage put out to undercut everyone else on the market and people are fooled in to buying because of the price point. I'm over the garbage Chinese items that have flooded the United States.

@@weezem What you are saying spunds an awful lot like what people were saying about Japanese manufacturing a few decades ago. There is a lot of crap coming out of China, but more and more high quality items are being made there. It depends on quality control. SSR products are indeed not the greatest, but their sister company Benelli is putting out some nice bikes that are Chinese made. I guarantee you that the Big 4 are not taking Chinese manufacuring lightly. The proof is in how they are moving more and more production into China.

@@aaronbehindbars Does not matter, the raw materials from China are of lesser quality, it has nothing to do with quality control. You take cheap materials and combine it with cheap labor and the results are a very low quality product.. The big 4 most likely uses Chinese steel to build cheaper bikes to sell to "less fortunate" countries.

That SSR looks like like a mini version of the Ducati Monster
