I think that if you require a different final drive ratio then sprockets are an absolute must. The chain only needs to be changed if the OE length doees not accommodate the correct wheel base after sprocket swap.

Is there anay damage in the engine by changing to full exhaust without retuning/ remap the ecu? Pls reply bro Bart..thanks..
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
HHey man...it's Bart here. These bikes have pretty sophisticated fuel management systems nowadays. There are fueling tables in the ECU that control what happens with fuel delivery and adjust to conditions. One table operates a function based on manifold pressure, one on TPS opening, one is a correlation of which of the previous has more effect at which RPM, and then you also have the narrow band O2 sensor table that also adds a certain amount of adjustment to the final fueling. All these tables make up the "brain" of the bike in regards to what happens to the fueling at just about any condition...for the stock bike. Once you change enough components you will lie outside of some of these systems ability to adjust and will need tuning. I have seen many people change to full exhaust and take their chances. With this I have not seen any of these bikes harmed in the short run. The reality is that just the full exhaust on such a small bike will not cause a change big enough to make the fueling unsafe for the motor in most common riding conditions. Now when you enter the race realm the bike experiences 50-100% load most of the time and then you should not go that route. Biggest point I try to make with people asking this question is that if you do not tune the bike to the exhaust you are not taking advantage of spending the money on the exhaust....you are just making more noise. A proper tune can maximize potential performance gains with that exhaust.

I have the full akrapovic race line system exhaust on with K&N Air filter and K&N oil filter , I have the Power commander v with ignition module built it. I've taken it to get tuned and surprisingly it went from 35hp to 40hp and 18 Torque to 20.53 Torque. Is there any way to get it closer to your numbers without ECU tuning ? Also my bike struggles to hit 110mph. Downhill I get 115mph max. When I had it stock out the lot I was able to get it to 115mph easily.
@TSTindustries3 жыл бұрын
Oh yea man. Power commander and all those other mods are a good base for more progress. The ecu tuning is not necessary if you have all that and an experienced tuner. If you get our airbox covers, our velocity stacks, our air filter, and get it tuned again, you will get around our numbers. Even if you don't change the filter you will still be close. The k&n is not far off from our mwr. Just make sure that the AIS is either eliminated or at least temporarily disabled for the dyno sessions.
@TSTindustries3 жыл бұрын
If you are missing top end 5mph it is possible that your peak horsepower is higher than stock but the bike falls on its face and doesn't pull to redline past the peak. Can't say for sure without seeing the data.

Is there any big bore kit, or at least some pistons that can do that?
@TSTindustries2 жыл бұрын
Several companies make overbore pistons. Millennium Technologies can bore your juggs and coat them with nikasil to match the pistons. In our experience, the aftermarket pistons present reliability issues so we went away from using them. We use stock bore pistons sourced from Yamaha Factory Racing. Those up the compression without sacrificing reliability. You can find them through GYTR but have to get them from EU.
@TheSilviu8x2 жыл бұрын
@@TSTindustriesThanks for the reply. I am in EU, (Italy) and i agree with you on the big bore question. After some ~"extensive research"~, I've found that bigger pistons are generally a problem rather than a solution. Even if the reliability is on par with stock, the engine will reach lowered rpm potential, thus, (for the oversimplification sake), it's exactly as effective as a bigger back sprocket/smaller pinion... But your alternative solution sounds really good, especially with bigger cams and stronger head components!

@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
It is tough to say what your results would be with just the WorX ECU. The flash program was developed for the whole pack and we have not done much testing of the program with an array of different setups. The popping and backfiring is most likely because of the AIS dumping air in your exhaust stream.

I don't know exactly what you are asking about. A while back we tested the Gilles Tooling adjustable pegs and found that while you adjust the peg height, nothing is done about the foot controls. That is not very practical. We use adjustable rearsets on these bikes. Your height is exactly the same as Bart's and through the use of these rearsets he fits on the bike well enough to get it around the track pretty quickly.
