I haven't read these in years and could barely remeber a lot of the finer details. I wanted to read these stories again, It's serendipitous I found this, theres not many Tsubasa or holic videos analysing them or comparing adaptions. One my favourite facets of Tsubasa's narrative is the death of innocence in the Tokyo arc. Things were kinda tragic up 'till then, but playful and optimistic. While it's been years, the dramatic shift in tone still sits with me.

Indeed, it does with me, too. Since Tokyo Revelations was essentially what got me into Tsubasa Chronicle in the first place, I was very surprised to learn just how much of a tone shift it was compared to all of the arcs before it. I really do think it was a clever choice on CLAMP's part-to go from a cute, hopeful, run-of-the-mill story about a boy trying to save his love and gaining two mentors along the way... to THIS. Just suddenly. At the snap of your fingers. It was brutal, and just so very well-written. Nothing was the same after Acid Tokyo, which is insane when you realize that it's only halfway through the series. CLAMP's stroytelling is so incredibly unique! Heeyy welcome back! And right when my Tsubasa addiction came back in full throttle hahaha! I've been a viewer of your Tsubasa review series since the beginning but was too shy to leave a comment until now. Better late than never I suppose! So please excuse me for having a lot to say hahaha. Also good luck to your endeavors into voice acting! 😊 The Acid Tokyo arc was and still is one heck of a ride. Definitely one of my favorite arcs as well! And the one where I've fangirled the most... Syaoran's awakening, the main Syaoran being a fake, Sakura being a badass, Fay and Kurogane's moments, the character growths! It was too much to handle!!! Having watched the anime series first and jumping straight into the OVAs before the manga.... needless to say it broke me. I came right off from finishing Cardcaptor Sakura before Tsubasa too so you can bet that pain was doubled. Like you said, the Acid Tokyo arc really is true to how quickly things can take a turn for the worst in life. 🥲 I'm so happy there's still fans keeping the love for Tsubasa alive to this day ❤️. Let's hope that one day we'll get a proper anime reboot along with xxxHOLiC. Sure it seems like a bit of a far off dream but it doesn't hurt to dream lol. And I am definitely on the Production IG train if that were to ever happen. Side note: when will they have a proper release of the tracks from the OVA? The track when the real Syaoran awakens was infamous for not being found ANYWHERE so people had to resort to ripping it hahahaha

It really means a lot! ❤Goodness, yes, it must have been quite the shift going straight from CCS and the TRC anime to the Tokyo Revelations OVA. Oof. My condolences. I am also glad that there are still Tsubasa fans out there! We must keep it alive so that CLAMP can see how much their fans love it and are really hoping for an anime reboot! I keep thinking to myself, "If the Tokyo Babylon anime finally comes out and does well, maybe that will be a sign for them to move on to TRC and xxxHOLiC!" So, despite how much Tokyo Babylon makes me cry, I will definitely be watching it when it comes out! Side note note: Oh my gosh, really? I had no idea! I'll have to look into that track... I know that when I looked up the Tsubasa Chronicle OST there were like seven separate CDs and I was like 😳. I bought one, but I just don't have the money for anymore! haha I'll keep an ear out for that track, though, and let you know if I ever hear it!

@@MeMeYT Heyy I can finally have time to reply haha. Yeah it was quite a... stark contrast lol. Oh man, Tokyo Babylon 2021... that was another emotional roller coaster too. And for all the wrong reasons🙃. I haven't read Tokyo Babylon yet but if you've been in the CLAMP fandom long enough you know how loved it is. And the whole production and plagiarism controversy was so unfortunate, but it may have been for the best. Still waiting on any potential updates for that. Although the cancellation does bring up the possiblity of the GoHands episodes being lost media. They probably had a number episodes, if not all of them, done around the time of cancellation. While I agree with many the studio wasn't the best pick, it does spark my curiosity of their take on the series 🤔 And yess, if the new Tokyo Babylon anime does do well I would hope that it would bring interest to a new Tsubasa adaptation too! When Tsubasa's 20th anniversary came up I was hoping there would be at least something announced but not a peep. Guess I got my hopes too high lol. One of the most beautiful arc not, only this serie but ever I almost agree on yours But I think acid Tokyo sakura guiding injured tried sakura is really beautiful I don’t think acid Tokyo Sakura is ccs sakura, she is more likely another sakura who unfortunately dead here Fai implicitly accidentally reveal who he really is Kurogane also really care Fai explicitly Kurofai forever ❤❤🥰🥰

Yes, this is one of my favorite arcs ever in anime! I think pretty much the only arc that could possibly trump it is the four-episode "Dark Era" arc from Bungou Stray Dogs... But I'd still have to think hard on that because both arcs are so good! Wow, I never thought about that before. You're right, it could be a ghost Sakura from Acid Tokyo leading Sakura back to the Tocho building, rather than a version of CardCaptor Sakura like I was thinking. Thanks for that! I'll have to ponder it a bit. ❤ I agree-KuroFai forever. 💙🖤💙🖤

​@@MeMeYTYou're welcome as well and I have an opinion on Sakura seeing Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. Maybe she is a spirit that died a long time ago which makes sense why she sees her and because they have the same soul from Different dimensions. I also have a better idea on the Sakura scene. Instead of seeing Sakura, instead Sakura sees all of the spirits like in the manga but instead led by the spirit of Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura
