When I multiplied 3% by 0.44, I got 0.0132 without having to divide by 100, like he did in the video.

Thanks for your question! The 44% comes from the proportion of phosphorus in P2O5 based on its molecular weight. Phosphorus is 31 grams (per mole) and oxygen is 16 grams (per mole) so P2O5 = (2 x 31) + (5 x 16) = 62 + 80 = 142. The proportion of phosphorus in P2O5 is (2 x 31)/142 which gives 62/142 = 44%. Same for K20 and 83%....Potassium is 39 grams (per mole) and oxygen is 16 grams (per mole) so K2O = (2 x 39) = (16) = 78 + 16 = 94. The proportion of potassium in K2O is (2 x 39)/94 which gives 78/94 = 83%
