TSUNAMI - M&D TAYLOR - PINFARI XPRESS X48 INVERTED COASTER - NOTTINGHAM GOOSE FAIR FLASHBACKS - 2004

2004 was a standout classic Goose Fair year with several new rides attending. M&D's who had presented their Giant Wheel for the first time the previous year this year decided to present their biggest attraction - Tsunami.
The Inverted Coaster was new from Pinfari in 2003 it had a footprint of 157 feet by 75 feet and was 65 feet high, it featured a twisting first drop, two inversions and a helix in its 1100 feet of track and ran with three trains holding 10 riders each giving it a capacity of 900 riders an hour.
In its short travelling lift it attended fairs in Spain and France as well as fairs in the British Isles including along with Nottingham Goose Fair - Hull Fair, Winter Wonderland at the Millennium Dome in London, and Planet Fun at the Kings Hall in Belfast.
Tsunami arrived two weeks early in Nottingham on 11 trailers and took around a week to build up - it was the largest roller coaster to attend Nottingham Goose Fair until the Mellors Group presented their Runaway Mine Train.
Despite the success of Tsunami at the few fairs it did it never travelled long term but M&D's did present their smaller Mad Mouse roller coaster from Fabbri which was new the following year. Although that roller coaster never did Goose Fair it did do Hull for a number of years and was new to Nairn Highland Games in August 2005.
Tsunami was not the only roller coaster M&D's presented at Nottingham - they also presented their Jamming roller coaster which featured a spiral lift hill and spinning cars. M&D's continue to present some of the biggest rides at Nottingham Goose Fair - usually with their Fabbri Giant Wheel which stands over 130 feet tall and was new to Nottingham direct from the Fabbri Group factory in Italy in 2003.
