TSURINOYA Dark Wolf Ultra TEARDOWN

Hello everyone, in this video I will be tearing down my Tsurinoya Dark Wolf Ultra Left handed reel. I do have a few mods done to my particular reel mainly ceramic or micro ceramic bearings. As always, thanks for watching and let me know what you think!

Unfortunately the dynamic brakes won't work on CDM left hand models because, unlike Shimano, the Chinese reels don't use left and right specific brakes. Paul Gaskell of Fishing Discoveries recently released a video explaining why. Still a good video. Thx.

Hey Ron! Yes I was in discussion with him while Paul was making that video! I believe I added a direct link to his post in one of my community posts but also the videos I posted when I made the discovery that the DWU had static brakes. It’s a very well made video and it was interesting discussing the phenomenon with him at length prior to his video release. Out of curiosity, are you on the Facebook “budget bfs fishing” group?

Hey sogood! You can actually use the old original Acura star drag or the DWU star drag. I replaced mine with an older version and it seems to be a bit stronger. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!

Hey Huntry! Hm… I wonder if maybe the gear has broken a tooth or the assembly has a loose part? If you are not up to trying to fix it you might want to reach out to Tsurinoya to see if they’ll sell you a side plate. The alternative would be to buy another DWU variant like the kingdom micromonster which is selling for around $38 usd currently. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!
