TSW3 Tutorial - Introducing the New PZB Helper HUD

TSW3 brings us a new HUD to help learn the German Safety System PZB. PZB has long been a mystery and I used to fake it till I made it... sometimes. Well this new HUD is both an excellent tool for the average player to enjoy PZB but also a great teaching tool for those who want to learn how it really should be used.

Learning safety systems especially on the German railways gives so much more dimension to the game. But, I've noticed as I've learned the PZB that everything you need is displayed on the dashboard in front of you (not the HUD). Every time you'd pass an active pzb, a yellow line would show up and that is your cue to acknowledge it. Once the 1000hz yellow square is gone you can release. 😊

That depends on the locomotive, the displays for PZB are quite varied. Some of them display more information than others. You're right that it adds another challenge element.

TSD, thanks a lot for this tutorial. I totally agree with you about how useful is this new add to the TSW3 HUD. The PZB is hated for many people, and with this help that can change, but not without explanations as yours. Thanks again.

Thanks Felix. It has been pretty handy for me. Before it I mostly knew what PZB wanted most of the time but sometimes it would still trip me up. With the helper that only happens if I'm not watching and then I deserve it!

Great, you're welcome. Running with PZB is very frustrating until it clicks then it's fun. Even after you're good at it expect the odd trip

@@Frankyboy666 you'll get there, it does take time its very complex. Learning what the signals mean will help but there's a heap of different kinds! Don't try to do anything else when learning PZB.

Did you ever made a video about the difference between German PZB and UK TPWS (I think it's called)? Like to learn those differences.

It's Pieschen Predicament on Naverka Dresden in TSW3. The lightning has been reduced a lot in game since this was recorded. At the beginning of the video I say which one it is.

@metubeisyoutube I can only assume you deleted your comment - this video is not designed to be an introduction to PZB it is an introduction to the PZB helper. Introducing you properly to PZB would take 10 hours not 10 minutes.

How do you get the old routes you already own on tsw2 to work on tsw3 mate

They will become available for download on September 6th. You will be automatically licensed for the TSW3 version and will be able to download them by selecting which ones you want to bring down yourself. Its not automatic because it's 450gb if you have all of them.
