@@tonyhawkification how could I sell their home if they gave it to me? It would be my house no? Why would I need to sell it either...? If I don't occupy, it renting it out for more than the taxes on it are a piece of cake with these prices at the moment. I'm sure I could rent out a 3 bedroom home with finished basement for more than 200$/month.

It all comes to affordability. To keep pushing prices up, there should be enough fools further down the line, and now it is too much even for the investors.

I encourage all renters to stop paying their rent to the land lord and refuse to leave. Once people realize what a garbage investments being a landlord is they will look at the stock market and it will drive business forward. Canada, a country of immigrant old world farmers who keep their cash under mattresses or real estate.

As a tsunami of mortgage renewals are coming due, more and more Canadians are getting wiped out financially. Investors know there's a risk of a full-blown housing collapse and are attempting to price that risk. High immigration won't necessarily have much impact on house prices either as recent immigrants typically have significantly less money than Canadians do.
