I have ordered some Metcalfe N gauge buildings. They will be used behind the TT line at far end of the layout - now called Metcalfe Corner until I think of a better name for the village scene I will create there. I got some cheap TT figures from China on ebay. The were equivalent of 7 to 8ft tall. Suspect they were TT 3mm (1:100). Think I will chop the legs off and stick them inside buildings or try them as seated passengers.

Andy, I just want to say that I’ve binge watched all your videos over the last few days and love how your enthusiasm radiates through the screen! I was on the fence about TT:120, but now I’m going to jump right into it! Thank you!

Well, I sincerely hope you enjoy the scale as much as I do. As you’ve probably seen I do model in OO as well and both do offer unique qualities. I’m hearing great things about the new steam locomotive coming through anytime soon and love the new intercity 125 but, also love the steam generators in OO coming out as well. Again space can be a deciding factor and the only train set I’ve ever thought worth its salt is the new TT:120 sound fitted options on sale now because they come with all the latest tech in the box to get going from the word go. Again thank you 🙏

ModelU have a range of drivers in the period 1968 -1995 that may work. some figures on the site do have the class of loco they relate too. worth having a look? I bought a pack of late steam era figutres and got Dan Evason of Tunnel lane Model Railways to paint them. Really pleased with what he did.
@modeloco7 ай бұрын
I have seen these but, couldn’t find TT on their site last time I looked and knowing they’re a high spec’ product presumed cost if available might be lost at this scale. Of course we have a lit cab so will look again

The pub is something that I've been considering. Not sure about it seeming scaled down though. Happy Modelling
@modeloco7 ай бұрын
Thank you 🙏 Do like the pub too but, it didn’t quite catch my imagination like the shepherds rest did and thought that this could be like an ale house with some minor additions. The scaled down a bit was just an initial reaction as I unboxed these newer buildings. Did think though this could be a real benefit too if my observations were valid. The other thing with the figures added to the puzzle 🧩 Yes Happy Modelling 🙏

@@modeloco I bought the pub and was initially impressed but on closer inspection the name was torn and scratched! Unfortunately I've had to return it for a replacement.

Ooo that’s a bit of a disappointment. I’m sure they’ll sort it. I’ve just noticed one of my new coaches has a coupling spring missing. Luckily it runs fine so won’t need a return but, I’ll be getting Hornby to send a spring on 👍
@damianinCanadaTT-OO7 ай бұрын
I commented on Hornby’s social media question about buildings that an engine shed for the coronation and pacific classes would be good. As you said the current one is too small. Also it would be nice if you could open the big loading doors on the goods shed
@modeloco7 ай бұрын
Very true and it carries into OO as well. I did expect the TT engine shed we have now to be like the OO version and be open at both ends but, it did serve my Shiredsle design in the end being fully walled. A side opening is something Hornby have done in OO too so always like that when it falls on the right side for a layout plan 👍

Thanks for that matey. Yes there does seem to be some anomalies on scale even from the same companies. I’ve got some of the excellent diecast vehicles and a little Morris minor van looks very tiny compared to the others but got back in touch with them and they said it was to scale to me it looks a lot smaller and even next to my little figure it would have a job to get into it, but it’s all part of the fun also got a semi as well a resin building from a company and that looks big but Hayhoe, as I say it’s all part of the fun And if you have a reasonably size layout, then you can choose where you put the buildings and vehicles to the front or to the back cheers matey

Lovely stuff. Guess one has to bear in mind that those morris vans were extremely tiny, especially looking at them today. Glad you’re enjoying this side too 👍

Hi Alan, Have fun, little steps and don’t rush it I’d probably say to myself. The buildings if pre constructed usually tell me, by means of where they’re going to look best and it’s not always what I envisaged initially. Everything we wanted won’t always fit and trying to go ahead regardless causes a cramped result. Less is more ?

Suppose, like a mate who totally doesn’t get model railways said to me laughing in disbelief that, wow man this is crazy they’re all just the same little motors buzzing round and round with different bodies on as you alter the current to what are basically two wires called track. If he feels that truth it’s fine. If you feel limitations hold you back or make you feel like my mate, that’s fine too. I quite enjoy having that, after all the OO abundance. Turn a church and it looks totally different. Every artist has the same brush and paint 🙏

I agree Andy, the negative content from some KZbinrs might be exciting for some but I find it just plain boring.
@modeloco7 ай бұрын
Always aimed relentlessly at the same ones. I’m yet to see the same aimed at, let’s pick one… erm.. Accurascale. Can only assume they’re flawless and beyond reproach. A newcomer or anyone interested in getting back on board could easily be dissuaded by such misleading content, dressed up as fair criticism. On the up side it’s what drove me forward into addressing the imbalance I began to see about quality brand products I had, owned and cherished being torn apart, ignored or subliminally linked again and again to poor quality, greed, always glue marked with missing items, bad service, slack approach and outdated tooling, old tech, etc, ignoring the very innovations they offered and still offer whilst doing reviews on DC layouts and some even then subtlety including Ai layout games into the mix. I read the comments regarding me appearing with you on your great coming together of hearts with Mac Trains and ignored it, not because I wouldn’t enjoy it or because I didn’t enjoy the idea but, would have to address this very issue head on. I included Elvis on my ml13/14 videos to show that fun and serious can go together. The title of this latest video is about testing the water too because I could have easily gone with a negative or called it ‘All under a fiver’ because it was, with my reward points off. Do people want to build joy and share that instead of constantly finding division. I’d say most of us do in reality. The times they are a changing 🙏

@@raynorton5920 Ray that means a lot, it really does. It’s not always easy to speak our truth. It’s never meant to cause division between any of us. That’s what holds us back. We want to fit in naturally until anything veers too far off course to the point where we must act to help restore balance and harmony. The court jester was the only one who could let the king know uncomfortable truths like his weight gain or whatever without being silenced. Serious fun. I think or rather feel this hobby is just that
