mooiste tijd(en) 1985 tot 1998 mooiste tijden op de baan en langs de baan. toen mocht nog veel en was je thuis op assen overnachten mocht op circuit enz enz....nu mag je als een nummertje naar binnen en naar buiten....de fans waren toen ook fans en kwamen voor hun idool en anno 2020 komen er geen fans meer echt klapvee... en anno 2021 zit er niets meer bij als er oud coureurs langs komen op de baan...mick doohan...ik zag niemand emoties hebben die gast was mega mega goed.

I was there watching this race back in 1986. Rode my Yamaha RD350 all the way from Finland to Assen. Days of great adventures!

Volledig mee eens….ik zat altijd in die bocht waar Lawson onderuit ging…toen ook met die regenrace waar Sarron spencer onderuit tikte….vergeet niet Boet van Dulmen en altijd genoten van mamola. Mooie tijden met de 3 en 4 cilinder tweetaktmotor….

One of my main issues/complaints of the past 500cc races was the IDIOT who decided on push starts - I always considered this a recipe for disaster, and it took the loss of someone life to finally get these promoters to pull their HEADS out of their asses- you work your butt OFF to qualify on the front row, your bike doesn't start, and u end up 20th in the first turn - example- Eddie Lawson qualifying 2nd in SWEDEN 1984, and watching him pushing the bike for what seemed an eternity and was LAST by the time his bike started-

Hi . I'm trying to find an early 80s 500cc race where two teammates on Yamaha's were beside each other for some laps. On a particular corner, when braking on entry. Both bikes were lifting the back wheel beside each other. Have not seen anything like that before or since. Any help would be greatly appreciated. When the Rz500 came out, I wanted one , eventually could afford one. Loved it, because a woman, i sold it for peanuts. Now worth about $30,000 aud. My only refuge is saying to myself, " I would have killed myself if I'd keep it".
