I’ve often wondered where the exact location of the old T1 is in relation to the current pit straight at the Nurburgring. Looking forward to that one

Wish it they could have included it in iRacing, with today's technology getting better maybe it will be eventually.

Have walked the uphill section from Müllenbach to Scharfer Kopf several times. If you let your mind imagine it, you can still hear the racing motors coming up behind you..!!

Yes I know the circuits are different now. But I meant to say was like spa today still have parts of the old layouts. Only parts of the circuits.

Rode this track several times on my motorbike and I like it. Downside is that you really need to have a high performance bike while it's a speedy track. It's an utterly shame that they changed the banking of some corners.

Very interesting to see! It may be a shame to see the circuit getting smaller over the years. Im thankfull we can still enjoy the current Assen. Considering all the regulations on sound etc.

I'm Dutch and it took me so long to figure out Simon was saying Beilen. That was a... Unique... Pronunciation, for sure. Literally had to grab a map to see what surrounding areas sounded something like "Bay-line". For those wondering the correct pronunciation is closer to By-lun. Still not quite but close enough

Very excellent video. It's amazing how different these circuits were back then. But some of these circuits still have their original layouts. Like spa and monza and of course the hockenheimring. And others😎 take care

Non of them tracks are original in layout lol. Very few tracks are, if you don’t count ovals, the oldest unchanged track in the world is probably the Pau street circuit, unchanged in layout since 1935 But even that used a different layout once in 1933! Maybe Herman or Simon have an answer to this @Circuits of the Past
@Circuitsofthepast4 жыл бұрын
@@Tomtown007 Indeed, there are not many thracks that never changed the layout. The only circuit I can think of is Mugello.
@Tomtown0074 жыл бұрын
Circuits of the past I know Mosport is unchanged since it opened in the 60’s, Macau has also been the same for an extremely long time, although it does slightly feel like cheating using street circuits haha

At -17.24 the corner was not called the Haarbocht, but the Bedeldijk
@Circuitsofthepast4 жыл бұрын
At 17:24 you see De Bult. And Bedeldijk was the left kink between the Haarocht and Stroomdrift and can be seen at 2:12.
@RobertDiderich4 жыл бұрын
mij video counsdown from -19:24?!. But the corner at -17.24 or 2.00 was not called haarbocht, but Bedeldijk. It was the corner where Wayne Gardner had his accident with Franco Uccini. The Haarbocht was introduced in 1984, when the circuit was shortened for the first time
@Circuitsofthepast4 жыл бұрын
According to my information the right corner was the Haarbocht and the left kink Bedeldijk. Gardner and Uccini crashed on the exit of the Haarbocht towards Bedeldijk. This section already had the name "De Haar" when it was a street circuit. When the corners got individual names on the 1955 semi permanent circuit they named it Haarbocht.

@Robsty884 жыл бұрын
@Circuitsofthepast4 жыл бұрын
