Despite the vignetting, the images actually look more vibrant and with better contrast with the ttartisans. I just bought it, waiting for it to arrive. Thanx for the video 👍

You can easily add the vignetting in post production, if you have the Fuji.

I agree, the vignetting doesn't look that bad and actually suits some of the images. Its only really noticeable when you shoot wide open and in any case if you don't like it is a one click fix in most image editors.

My TTArtisan was delivered today. I have a lot of their lenses, so I was confident in this lens. I primarily bought it as a discreet street lens for my X-Pro1 and X-E3 cameras. I live in the mountains and went outside and shot about a dozen photos. I like the lens a lot. The most stunning aspect was a shot off the back deck into the dense forest and mountain view from our deck. At f8 the sharpness and resolution was incredible. Corner to corner every leaf, every detail in the tree bark was tack sharp. The Bokeh is good. Certainly not to the level of some of my other lenses but with my Amazon points I got the lens for $97. I primarily shoot in B&W but I did a portrait of our fat orange Cat Bindi and the colors and detail rivaled lenses costing ten times or more the price of this lens. I have been a working photographer for fifty years. Decades ago, when I was a fledgling photojournalist I had the privilege to share some time with W. Eugene Smith and during our time together he shared he always burned in vignettes when he printed to draw attention to the subject matter. This lens vignettes. Me good.

I have been using the ttartisan for my x t30 for a couple weeks now. This is my first foray into photography so take what I say with a grain of salt. But for $150 you really can learn to forgive the vignetting given what you get...sharp and quick autofocus and great color, small form factor...really great value.

Yes, regardless of experience, I know you’ll WAY MORE than $150 worth of Dun out of that lens.

Owned both of these and the R WR, if money is no object the latest Fuji gives that weather sealed assurance (UK dweller, if it ain't raining now it will be in five minutes), the slim pancake goodness and that aperture ring. But the Fuji mk i would be my budjet choice. If I wanted a pancake TTArtisan it has to be the manual 25mm f2.
@shira_yone
@shira_yone 8 ай бұрын
How is the TTArtisan 25mm f2, is it much better than the 27mm f2.8? I'm sort of interested in it's twin brother lens, the 50mm f2 (same lens body and all) which on an APS-C sensor would be a hilarious pancake telephoto lens and that sounds like fun personally.

Fuji has also strong vignetting but LR correct this and additionally you can't turn it off. Just use for example Iridient Developer to develop files and disable lens profile. You will see how strong vignetting Fujinon has.

I've got it. It's a great little lens. It's easy to forget at less than 1/2 the cost of the Fuji 27mm, it doesn't have to be better. In fact, it comes very close to being an equal-and that is more than enough.

I'm using the TTArtisans with an X-E3 and I really like it. I've learnt to treat it as an f4.0 lens though, as f2.8 has a bit too much "character" ;-) From f4.0 to f8 it is very good. The only real flaw is flaring.

Get both if you can afford it. I mean why not 😜 Aside that, love the contrast on ttartisan but when it comes to the sky color straight out of the camera, I love the fuji a lot more. TTartisan give a more higher contrast intense look to it while Fuji provides a calmer, softer gentle look to it

Great video! I just snatched up The TTArtisan from B&H for $149.00 w/free shipping. I was able to "find" the Fuji WR (it's sold out almost everywhere rt now) for $399.00 but the budget is a little tight and the 27mm prime is a 2ndary lens since I also have the 18-55 f/2.8-4.0 OIS... I wanted something smaller so, I figured WTH for $150.00... My assessment is the same. The TTArtisan is a good deal for the price and it offers up some nice character in addition to the heavy vignetting. It may not be quite as small as the Fuji but the price is smaller and for a "beater" lens it's a keeper.
