Superb rendition of “Sweet Virginia” by the Tedeschi Trucks Band with the Wood Brothers. That trombone solo was excellent, and Derek Trucks killed it on his slide guitar. Mick and Keith would be very impressed. I sure was.

My good friend Mark Stead first turned me onto Susan's second album in like 1998 and I loved her of course. Mark was a great drummer, we were in a band together at the time. A few years later Derek married her and at that time Mark and I were working together full time 40 hours a week. We talked music for hours every day. He said "Just wait until they start a band together.". In November of 2005 Mark was killed in a car accident coming home from a gig. Within a week of the first TTB Album I went and played it at his grave site. He Knew they would be special.

They've gone on record as saying The Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour was pivotal in forming TTB. That falls in line with the earlier reference to similarities to Delaney and Bonnie and Friends. Lots of musicians were part of both bands. It's lost on too many people how influential Leon Russell was during this time. He put so many musicians together with other players that would likely not have happened without his direction.

It's not in Derek's nature but I'd be trying to steal O'teil back from Weir and his boys. I suspect he'd be back immediately if the money was even close. I think he's incredibly bored now in comparison to playing with TTB, ABB, Frogwings and most of all Col. Bruce Hampton. Just my 2 cents worth.

Saw you guys in Arkansas a few weeks back and Elizabeth absolutely killed it on bone. The call and response with Derek on Space Captain blew my mind. Some of the best musicianship I have seen in my life. Heard of your guys because of the Wood Brothers but a fan for life now!

It was their second encore to close the show. Quite possibly the best live song I have ever seen. Here is the set list for that show: www.setlist.fm/setlist/tedeschi-trucks-band/2017/walmart-amp-rogers-ar-3be584dc.html

Oh my God this is so sweet!! Thank you so much for uploading this precious gem. This is what I like most about TTB. They play with other fine musicians, and cover many, many of those songs which make me feel like the hippie age will never die. And they do so with any temper-mental egoism of so many super stars? They be down to Earth like salt. LOVE TTB pray they stick around another thirty years. I'm working in Europe and haven't even caught them once. Please God please. Peace.

Wow, I saw Derek Trucks when he was 13 years old playing Alman Bros. covers at what used to be the best blues bar in Fla. and my favorite bar. Tobacco Road, down town Miami.

Tobacco Road Bar & Grill … Miami's coolest place for good music and good peeps! I spent a week there one night. Too bad they went under. Great memories ..

@@kenmurphy6792 it was my favorite bar, they used to close the parking lot for concerts, fill it up with hay bales, lean back and enjoy.

85 people.....I don’t even have words for how completely dead in the inside you have to be to dislike a groove like this....pity and that’s it....for the 85 half deaf folks....good luck.
