TTC Line 5 Eglinton LRT Testing Compilation Vol. 2

TTC Line 5 Eglinton LRT (aka Line 5 "Error") testing between Ionview Station and Aga Khan Park and Museum LRT Station. Unfortunately on the same day this video was taken, the Ontario Science Centre closed it's doors permanently due to roof damage. This is another blow to Line 5, as one of it's stations is named Science Centre. If the closure of the Science Centre is legitimately permanent, then Science Centre Station would have to change it's name sometime in the future.
Despite ongoing testing, I'll feel kind of pessimistic about the future of the Crosstown, and regarding it's opening. According to a statement made by Metrolinx, Line 5 will open in three months after an opening date is announced. It's now mid-2024. If an opening date is not announced by the end of September 2024, then Line 5 will not open until 2025. And if trends continue, then basically Line 5 will be Fontainebleau Las Vegas 2.0, which started construction in 2007, but due to delays and other issues, opened it's doors in 2023.

Won't be open until the Line 2 extension west to Square One and to Pearson International Airport is completed in 2052

@@XENONPLASMA I like this idea and I actually think it's possible for line 2 to extend to Square One and airport in 2040s, 2050s

@@quarringtonz231 Square one is going to be a transit hub for both Mississauga and Toronto transit. The eglinton west crosstown extension i believe is stopping at square one. So it would make sense for line 2 to connect to Square one and to the Airport and make the UP express superfluous.

It’s like the Valley Line it’s called in Edmonton they have the same bells and horns. The first half of the line is open but the Second Expansion will take a few years to Complete but should see good progress down the road. When the doors close the chimes sound the same. But on the Other 2 lines the trains are Different in Edmonton on our Capital and Metro lines they will be Expanding too one further south and the other further North. This will be neat for Toronto
