Carpenter of 40yrs, watched a few of your videos, quality of work and attention to detail is faultless, if I could give a bit of advice I would say for a top class tradesman like yourself I think you should be charging a bit more than you do, also I think at times you are stretching yourself a bit, only saying that as I see you have a young son and I speak from experience, just remember there is more to life than work and you are only as good as your last job. All the best pal.

Lovely to see someone take pride in their work. A genuine, conscientious and hard working trades person like this gets tonnes of repeat business and recommendations (as seem by offers in the comments ) (May I say, please do look after your back, not only can the pain be excruciating from pulling or tearing muscles etc for days and therefore lose you income, but it can result in long term damage. You have a whole career ahead of you so saying no to some work is sometimes the right decision. )

Great job! I know it was for a regular customer, but if you're too busy to fit it in during the day then i woukd up my price to make it worth your while in coming out in the evenings. For the quality of work you are doing, you are far too cheap. If you can up your prices and only get half the jobs you quote for, yet make the same amount of money then you woukd be a fool not to. Plus, youll get more free time at evenings and weekends for yourself and your son. Keep up the good work!!

That screw you rammed into...I felt that near my ear last month (Spax #8x2 1/2", T20). It hit my eye protection that wraps around my ear. Still hurt with the impact. That stairwell looks very nice and professionally done. Sometimes manufacturers give measurements of the "product dimensions" as it sits inside the shipping box/container instead of the actual measurement so the framing or such can be made during shipping. Customer service is no help sometimes as they just read off the item description too. So, now I wait until the item comes in for actual measurements.

Hi, so we completed on our house last month and doing refurb. Based in Bedfordshire. We want to replace the stairway banister as its old, made of pine and basically some of the spindle broke. My husband is looking around for someone to do it. I know you are based in Birmingham and probably too far, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 hours drive. Can I ask, how do you find people to fit stairways banister, is it something a carpenter can do? And what is the average price would you say to replace it. I need the same length as what you installed. Haven't decided on the design yet.
@hewoguys25063 ай бұрын
any decent carpenter can do it also pricing depends on the job ie: size of stairs glass or spindles using old newell post or new ones nowadays u can get if all pre made so chippy dont have to do any cuts

You can do it yourself if you have a easy rip out like this. For the hours he put in which was not many it's good pay. For people quoting extremely high amount, you will get that anywhere. Most try their luck. Once I got quoted £1000 to tile a bathroom floor. 😂 As he was going out his telling me if you find cheaper give me a call and I'll match it. Why would I give you a call to match the price when I don't need to negotiate to begin with. I bet he would tell me how he gave me a big discount after he finished the job. 😂
