@@emktm3482 really mine couldn’t be worse bought it slightly used at the dealer then a month later needed a new trans then 2nd gear went out then got that fixed now it’s getting a new trans agin and I’m getting rid of it my rmz250 is perfect tho And yes I know how to ride use clutch etc i use it as a stunt bike to so I’m not even going full power

@rhex That’s weird I haven’t rode mine in a while but for the two to three years I had it not one thing broke on mine. I pushed that bike really really hard. The one time something broke is when a guy crashed into me head on and it broke the clutch but it was a super easy fix. It needs literally 0 maintenance besides the occasional times when I hav to put the chain back on when it falls off.

@@lucky2859 if your into trail riding or moderate track riding I think it would be a good upgrade, if you do mainly do moderate to aggressive track riding I would suggest to go the next step and get a yz250. It all depends on what kind of riding you do, price and personal preference. I suggest looking further into it and watching reviews on the bike to see if it is right for you. I hope that helps!

I just did some decent mudding with one of these.... Get a Shinko rear tire and uncork it, it’ll plow through just about anything. Mine’s an ‘05 and it handles a couple feet of water with no issues whatsoever.

I accidentally went through about a 2 foot puddle the other day too maxed in third and surprised me how I just plowed through it, came out soaked but she didn’t let me down 😂 helps that it’s about a 250 lb bike

mechanical fitter here. reliable asf, as a beginner you'll have more then enough power. as you grow into a more comfortable rider it'll still suit you fine. no kick start is the only con i can find but you can roll start it so if you get stuck with a flat battery youll be fine no stress.

drxip drxip your a little short for a 230 but as long as you can have 2 feet on the ground even on your toes your good, if your getting it from a dealership they can adjust the sag

I'm sorry but the TTR is not a good buy. For the same amount of money you can get a really good bike that has way more modern features/parts/performance. I would much rather invest in a KLX300R or a CRF300L. Yamaha needs to get better trail/enduro bikes BADLY. The only enduro they are really selling is the XT250 and it is so underpower/outdated compared to what the other companies are releasing. Ya you can get out and have fun on anything with 2 wheels and I am not trying to put the guy down for owning one. But it's frustrating that Yamaha has some of the best damned track bikes out there but they are so far behind in the enduro/trail market. They just released a new WR250f for trail riding and it looks fantastic but it is not geared from on road riding at all and it still has horrible maintenance intervals. I wish they would release a new WR300X or even a new WR250X. People LOVED that bike. I cannot beleive they stopped making it all together. I used to be team blue all the way... I still love their 2 strokes and track bikes but they need to seriously take a look at all these outdated underperforming bikes they are trying to sell to people for modern prices and fix it ASAP!
