At the time, I thought that Joey’s record would never be repeated. But somehow if it is going to be beaten then another Dunlop is the right person. I do think that MD is the last true great road racer. Full respect. Also respect and best wishes to Lee. Although not racing, it was great to see him in his leathers and riding a bike. Both have been on their own tough journeys. As a Scot, now living in South Africa, I love watching these Northern Irish boys race around the IoM!

Never thought Joey's record would EVER fall . . . . . I'm a bit emotional I watched Joey few times in the 80's & 90's and he never looked like he was trying, due to his smoothness, it seem to come easy to him - but Michael to his credit, has had to fight, fight, fight with bikes making 'all shapes' Its a NEW era, fellow Bikers !

@geoffnelson67568 ай бұрын
Michael will undoubtedly become the greatest TT rider ever, but for many, myself included, Joey will still be no. 1. Back in the days of Agostini, he had two races each year, the Junior and the Senior, he managed 10 wins from 16 starts, as the years progressed riders could get 4 and 5 wins in one year, hence Hickmans rapid number of wins.
@user-zu6qn9ux9n8 ай бұрын
More races and rapid numbers yes, but no less risk! More so actually considering the amount of laps and much higher speeds. Joey’s achievement across road racing can never really be compared to the modern era as technology has improved the machines no end.
@geoffnelson67568 ай бұрын
@@user-zu6qn9ux9n I would agree that the risks are equally high in the modern era, reliability is better today, many more retirements in the days of 2 strokes, this group of current riders has created a mega exciting situation with approx 4 potential winners in each race, that hasn't always been the case.
