As someone who's had a near fatal concussion before, I completely agree. The EMT was asking me what day is was, where we were, and my birthday. All I could audibly say was "What?" Repeatedly, after the third, "What?" I just remember being carted out to the hospital. I still to this day can't remember any immediate moment before that hit to my head, all I can remember is opening my eyes about 20ish minutes later with everybody standing over me worried, including my mother who wasnt even there before it happened. Thats how i knew i was out for a while.

One of the toughest aspects in this is Tua’s age. It’s not easy, but quite a bit easier for someone in their 30’s to give up something they love vs. someone in their prime that has such a high level of talent. He knows he could have a superbowl ring or that potential in his mind and to give up that at 26 years old is no joke. I think the decision just becomes so much easier the older you are to place life over career.

i learned freshman year in highschool that the last 4 years i was playing ball already hurt my brain to a noticeable extent. my parents ridiculed me for hanging up the cleats. would probably be in a very bad spot if i continued. played as a RB and corner but man, from 4th grade they had us boys running into each other full speed with our head down every single practice except for friday walk throughs. being born in august i was always playing with the older kids haha. one kid who went D1 was on our team basically two years older then me.. he was running over us youngings like we made fun of his momma. the worst days were oklahoma drills. idk if coaches still run stuff that way but back in 2004-2008 they didnt give a damn about our brains xD

Yeah I’m 6’6 played football my entire life tackle football at age 5 and I was a beast ppl were looking at me my senior year I was guaranteed the starting Wr we had a great team I didn’t play because I had heacheaches concussions because I would hit hard as a wr blocking all the time I loved contact and my headaches got so bad I couldn’t even sit in classrooms and write I gave up football and it sucked but I loved basketball so I just trained for that year instead.

Going back to the first concussion when Tua was stumbling on the field talking bout his back and it was OBVIOUSLY a concussion....that's on the NFL. The fact that the refs or the spotters didn't demand him go into concussion protocol, Tua could be (emphasis on could be) compensated if he retires.
