Tuareg 660 - First dirt ride of the season 2023

Bike insured, high fender mod installed. a bit of time for a quick dirt ride on the Mamquam FSR. Didn't try to push my luck as I was riding alone and didn't have my satellite communicator.

I’ve been looking at every Tuareg videos just to get more and more info. I’ve already demo’ed the bike and I am so enamored with it. Such a great machine. I finally sold my super heavy motorcycle (an HD FXDLS, oooof) and contemplating on get it this year.

Do it, you will not regret it :) It's really a fun bike, and handles very well offroad. I'm obviously very happy of my purchase 😀 Feel free to join the FB group Aprilia Tuareg 660 Owners Group. I'm a admin on it. There are 2 questions before getting on it before the answers are very easy (you need at least one lol)

@@SuperCheesyMan How is the reliability? I really want one, I'm deliberating between this or the 800de or a lighter dual sport bike... The only issue is, I don't want my only bike to be something that breaks down... and there is only one aprilia dealer in my state.

@@arcadegamesify mine has been problem free since I got it last year and I ride it hard (and drop hard too lol) I'd say if you are very worried about reliability, get the 800DE but it's not gonna be as fun as the Tuareg. Like I said mine is problem free, some people got issues but it happens with any bikes. Or get the Aprilia and a small dual sport to practice your offroad skills (crf250l is perfect for that)

Those are roads very much like we’d find here in New Hampshire and Vermont. What are your thoughts on performance on this terrain?

This was really a piece of cake for the Tuareg as long as you get better tires than the stock ones (I have MotoZ), I've been on gnarly tracks and it did great as well

Hey Tomas, I bought my high fender from my local motorcycle shop. It's a Polisport Universal SM Line and the side forks protectors are from a KTM 890R Adventure. All the mounts are completely custom (you can check my high fender video in my channel) Drop frame I assume you are talking about the crash bars? They are from HEED. Skid plate is HEED as well. Blaster? The exhaust? It's a HP Corse SP1 with rally mount

@@tomasvalouch2508 aaah yes, no they were some cheap ones from Amazon. I crushed them both after the bike fell heavily on both sides. I recently replaced them with HDB Handguards and they are bombproof

what tyres came standard with the bike in your neck of the woods?

Standard tires are Pirelli Scorpion Trail. Replaced them day one with MotoZ Adventure at the back and MotoZ Dual venture at the front :)

Just don’t like the look of the high fender even though I understand the purpose and ride dirt bikes also. Part of the good looks of a Taureg is the front low fender!
