Good call choosing to mount the showerhead on the inside wall because you can put it up higher than you would on the outside wall because of the curve. I wish mine was mounted on the inside wall so I don’t have to crouch under the shower head.

Thank you Jay - I watched a video that said the Hepvo valves work best on their sides but the manual says that either orientation or even at an angle should work very well. Great suggestion on the screen!

Hi Juan and Michelle, Happy New Year! Great workmanship as always. Here is a suggestion, if I'm not too late to provide; the mechanical channel in the center of the bus that runs lengthwise over the tanks has a removable panel on the bottom. On a couple of occasions over the years, I have had to get into mine to connect new lines and replace old over the rear axle area. I cut mine in half before putting my tanks in so I can get it out when needed and I was sure glad I did. Otherwise, I would have had to remove a lot of plumbing and tanks to get at the inside of the channel. Maybe something to consider. BTW, I have P-traps on my sinks and tub and all work fine, never any odors. Not sure who told you they wouldn't. Looking forward to seeing the final product and seeing you shave your legs for the first time Juan! ;-)

Thank you John - that is a great suggestion as always - unfortunately, I fear it may have come a little too late as we nearing the completion of the plumbing in the water bay and there are quite a few lines in there now. Interesting about the p-traps - maybe our buses don't sway around as much as a typical RV? LOL, I hate to disappoint but if I shaved my legs it wouldn't be the first time ;)

Here is something to consider when plumbing and that is to combine a Street Elbow with a regular Elbow to create a Pivot Point in both the Left Right and Up Down Directions at a single spot in your run. A Street Elbow looks just like a 90 or 45 but fits into the Regular 90 or 45 Elbow without the need to glue and extra piece of pipe. Street Elbows have a big end and a little end with the little end acting like an Arrow to run in the direction of the drain to point downwards. You always want to Feed the Street Into the Regular Elbow or other fitting as to allow water to flow without obstruction. A Regular Elbow has two large ends that accept pipe. Also when you combine the Street and Regular Elbows you create a smaller Pivot Point rather than combining two regular Elbows. As the Street is attached it would need to be turned 45 Degrees, either left or right depending on clearance, then the Regular Elbow can Pivot up or down as needed to obtain the necessary Angle of Decent to allow the entire line to be straight. The way you did it will work but may leak due to the stress on the Screw Joints. Not saying it will leak, just saying it might. When you came down through the floor you used a 90 Degree Fitting then just bent the long run down to make the connection. Yes the connection is made but at the cost of stressing the points when there is a screwed fitting that could loosen in time. Of course I hope it does not but I just have to say it is possible. Had you come down through the floor with a Street Elbow then added a regular Elbow you could have easily twisted that joint to your desired angle of decent and allowed your Screw Joints to remain at 90 Degrees and less stress. Happy New Year and keep up the great work...

Thank you Paul - A street elbow would have been a better choice. Thank you for taking the time to explain this. Honestly I am mostly fumbling my way through this plumbing :)

@@BeginningfromthisMorning Yes you have been honest about your abilities all along and that is what makes your videos so great, they truly are real life events unlike the fictitious videos other KZbinrs make... I like to help where and when I can. I've been doing construction and remodeling for over 3+ decades and am now unable to work the long hours as I will be 58 here in a few days. I am new to RV Living, 2019 I purchased an older 35 foot RV and currently in process of remodeling it, but some basics don't change such as plumbing, electrical and general construction. As I age I am finding small projects seem to take longer and longer to complete. I started working with Electric over 20 years ago and my first project was a 4 way circuit. Basically the Entrance and Top of the Steps used a 3 Way Switch and at the Bottom of the Steps was the 4 Way Switch. This way as the person entered their residence they could turn on the lights then as they came into the hallway that opened up the down stairs they could turn off the light at the bottom of the steps. Then as they went to bed simply turn on at the bottom of the steps then off at the top. The best part was in the morning she was able to turn on the lights at the top of the steps then off as they left at the front door. A 4 Way Circuit is very handy and can be very useful in many situations. A 3 Way Switch can be confusing to hook up so what I've adapted is always use 3 wire and put the Red Wire on the Brass while the Black Wire goes to the Black Screw. A 4 Way Switch is easy, just match the Red and Black from one line at the Top then match the Red and Black, on the same side respectively, from the bottom to the next either 4 or 3 Way Switch. So if you have multiple locations for a Single Light to be on/off just keep adding 4 Way Switches in between the pair of 3 Ways and you'd be set. Basically you need to start with a 3 Way, then add as many 4 Ways as needed, then finish with a 3 Way and no worries it will work. The 3 Way Switches allow the Power and Rec/Light to be added and the 4 Ways keeps passes the power on down the run. Each Box that contains a 4 Way you just Wire Nut the White Wire to pass it on down the run. Depending on which Box you use, Plastic or Metal, depends on how you secure the Ground Wire as each Metal Box must be Grounded while Plastic does not; so just Wire Nut each ground Separate. You can get Power from one 3 Way then Power the Light/Rec at the other 3 Way or get both power and light/rec at the same 3 Way though this does add more wires to a single box and could get a bit filled; so try to use a Deeper Box if possible. Keep up the great work and if you get stuck just put it in a video and if I can offer any help, I will... Cheers...

Looks really nice. What are you going to put around the base of the tub to give it rigidity? In a house installation they'd set it in some type of mortar. Is there something that's used in motor homes for this?
@BeginningfromthisMorning4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Richard. The base has a foam layer built in to provide that stability and support it at an angle that promotes draining - it feel surprisingly solid.

Man, I'm struggling with this. Have the same (but the 40" length) tub. 1) how did you measure the height for the side supports? This thing is so flimsy, it's hard to get a good reading. Ive mounted it in with the supports per your video, but it squeaks when you stand on it. Not Ideal. 2) what is that black piece you used in the drain called? I did not see it on your parts list, unless I missed it. Thanks!
@BeginningfromthisMorning Жыл бұрын
Hi Cory - I am sorry you are having a hard time - building a bus can be VERY tricky. 1) I measured the height using the wall for the side near the wall. For the side not on the wall we used a 2x4 held in place (I think I actually clamped it in) and a measuring tape to the floor. Did your tub come with the Styrofoam base? Ours does not squeak at all. 2)That black piece is just a standard tub drain adapter (I took my little tub to home depot and made sure the fit was perfect - here is one on amazon: amzn.to/3Fvpccf) I don't remember if it was 1.5 inches but that will give you an idea of what the part is. Hope that helps - please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help.

I've never had a problem with my P-traps emptying while driving. You're hole for the drain through the floor should have been bigger than the largest diameter of your drain fitting, that way it has room to wiggle around and move as you drive down the road. I'd hate for that drain connection to crack your tub after everything is installed. Also a larger hole allows for repair from underneath. I would pull it apart and make the hole larger. Holy smokes you over think every move, though you're getting it done.

tiling is mistake the bus move around and may crack the tile
@BeginningfromthisMorning4 жыл бұрын
akdisney we have found that many people in busses have tiled their showers with success and they have held up. There are flexible thinsets and grouts that allow for a small amount of movement. We are also going to use very small penny tiles that should hopefully not be as affected by the movement as larger tiles would. But just like with everything else we do, we will do our research and then report back in the future on how things work out.
