You do a great job. I’m very impressed with your skills. I’m also impressed with your ability to teach so fluidly and correctly. Keep up the good work you’re doing and don’t be ashamed to ask for help. You have to preserve your body and prevent injury. I say this because I had a torn tendon and a torn bicep. It’s life-changing in the worst way.

Mad respect for you...for your power to accept all that you deal with and finding a way. Inspirational ❤. Design flaws on an air seat/cushion for simple occurrences of toileting mishaps is unacceptable. That's the whole point of their demographic.

I’m having some health issues with my joints, but we had a family trip planned for New York City. This kzbin.infoUgkxuxJwamLFanm476LC5WPeTouyyU1GXomC was perfect! It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.

Great video on tub transfers. Just wanted to tell you to think about a Superpubic Cath. I've been T-6 para for 26 years. I've had a Superpubic for two years almost exactly. Made a huge difference in my life. I did all the self cathing and used a Foley sometimes. It's really easy to take care of and you won't have to worry about peeing yourself even if there is a UTI. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer for you.

Extra seat cushions and covers are always good for people who use wheelchairs. Wash one then use the spare cushion. You can take 2 cushions on road trips I have four cushions and five seat covers. You can order from the medical supply place direct it’s cheaper than going through your insurance. I hope you find this helpful and not offensive.

My old cushion was better, didn't soak through and could be used without the cover (a RIDE, which I loved) It's too wide for my new chair though

@@ProTipsForParas Oh I’m so sorry what a terrible dilemma. I’ll keep you in prayer. Take it easy on your self. You’ve proven that you’re self-sufficient and independent. Ask for help. Never used a shower chair/bench the first...IDK...25 or so years. Now my shoulders are so 'shot' there is no way unless I throw in a couple of boat cushions to help me get out :). Should have done proper strength training and range of motion with my shoulders/arms.
@willscott53483 жыл бұрын
Impressive, I just don't have the strength to get off the floor of the bath. Curious though, why don't you lock the wheels to prevent the chair shifting back when you are transferring. I always lock my wheels. Maybe there is an advantage I don't know about?

Good quality garden gloves should be part of a gear bag for your chair. Use on your hands for confident grip. Stuff under wheel to keep the chair from rolling. I use something that helps. You might try flaxseed oil. Saw Dr. Oz work with a patient who got up at night. Determined that the bladder was not fully emptied, few minutes later, another urge to go. Flaxseed oil works, boy. In the end, it’s chutes and ladders…the straw-like structures become jagged, no longer smooth. The oil works. I took a cap every other day, if I forgot, it would come right back again. Sleeping through the night is great.

Why don’t you put a stainless steel grab rail , make sure they’re attached to the studs , and another one outside the bathtub , so you can grab them as you exit or enter the tub.

Rubberized shelf paper from dollar store. Roll of it should be part of your chair gear bag. Also, garden gloves will give you grip and confidence. The beauty of the internet brings together the people who are becoming a community. Can’t look to doctors. Look to engineers. Tell them to figure it out. Have to say….what you went through there would fail my cost benefit model. Not worth it. Having safety bars there …I wouldn’t trust because the design is poor. Design? It’s coming….not fast enough, but it’s growing exponentially. Good thing, have a lot of catching up to do. You are part of the great change, be proud. Network with others.
@powerWithinUs405511 ай бұрын
It’s coming. Form a network so all of you can be ready. Right now…could you answer if somebody asked for a referral? Canada or U.S., where are the places? There are slip on leg warmer pull ups , robotics are embedded. Conform to the user to help user walk. David Eagleman has podcasts, it’s coming….its here in some cases. We need neurologists like him, and engineers. Software and 3D printers, we got already. Get busy y'all. Organize. Get mad. Don’t be ruled by what hospitalization will cover. Crowd source funding.
