The things about the dsmp, especially late stage dsmp is to me, the fact that there were so many stories going on simultaneously, instead of it being focused on a specific narrative, thats on of the beauties of it to me. Thats why I liked it so much, and its so interesting to me. I dont think its a " mess" I think its something that made it enjoyable to a large(er) audience

Plus there wasn't just a main character and everyone floating around, but you could watch your favourite streamer being the main character in their own arc

same!!! tbh I'm sick of all these people doing retrospectives and tributes to the DSMP when it's clear they only watched one or two POVs (which is ABSOLUTELY FINE, and completely reasonable, but for someone like me who got wierdly obsessed it and spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME watching EVERYONE, it feels like someone writing a giant book report essay when they only read one chapter)

This is why I loved qsmp. It had so many creators, that had their own storys. Some more complicated then others, but all just as important.

I love that tubbo wants something similar to happen again but to a new group of people, and is "Still a firm believer that it was cool" because IT WAS! I KNOW there's a lot of shit that went wrong, we all do. Many don't even know the half of it. But I truly believe letting a few bad actors RUIN the memory of what in a lot of people's minds was one of the greatest pieces of modern media that blew up more than anyone thought it would is such a disservice to the creators who aren't shit people and the fans who poured their hearts into art, writing, songs, animation, etc.

As a fan of Undertale AU's, the million different storylines that came after the Disc War Finale were amazing (To me, at least). I find it so fascinating and enjoyable to learn everything I can about one of them, and then finding more things to learn and explore, and then *more* things to learn and explore. Being able to hyperfixate on Las Nevadas lore and once I exhaust it moving on to the Egg lore, and once I exhaust that one moving on to Ranboo's lore, and then finding out that there were tidbits of Callahan lore so I stop and search all kinds of clips to figure that out...I don't know, it kept me completely hooked

To equal the reach of DreamSMP you'd need the audience of all of youtube gaming. That's why no other smp will probably match it. But I think the qsmp showed you could probably replicate the feeling even if it's smaller.

surprisingly my favorite thing about the dsmp was all the different story lines. it felt like the server was its own universe, the characters in it all lived there, and had their own lives/storys to show. i loved how connected/intertwined peoples plots would get. i always loved dissecting how the plots all related back to each other, and references each other.

6:36 I think QSMP is the closest match so far. Incredibly popular Minecraft server with loud fun streamers + complicated yet interesting lore/story. I felt like I was catching up on DSMP vods again, it was nice while it lasted. It's a real shame that it imploded the way it did.
