Another great, informative video! Ampeg definitely did their own thing circuit-wise, it's quite the departure from the Fender-style preamps that everyone else copied ad nauseum (and which Fender themselves lifted out of an RCA manual), and the output stage is very similar to an old Bogen PA that I turned into a guitar amp years ago. I'd still recommend including screen grid resistors even if Ampeg didn't, they're cheap insurance to keep the screens from drawing too much current during overdrive. This wasn't a huge consideration on most 7591 designs since it was primarily used in HiFi systems (and Ampeg too liked to keep things squeaky clean) but if you're planning on driving it hard they may save your tubes.
