I remember when I was growing up in the 1950's-60's, there would be occasional TB outbreaks. We had one in our rural community that involved multiple families. Everyone had to go in for a Mantoux test.. if positive, you needed an X ray. Mantoux tests were done at schools every year.

My husband was diagnosed with tuberculosis in 2016. He had to go to the hospital and take these huge pills that somehow changed his eye color from brown to orange now. He's latent now and is ok. He was an auto salesman and talked regularly with lots of people and I guess tb is spread through that (or singing) the most.

Because once the TB is everywhere it's going to be futile. You have to quarantine away from people who have it. It's highly contagious even with PPE. Theres a reason we worked so hard to get rid of it. We already know trump wont have a good response.

TB has an extremely high comorbidity with AIDS. It is also high in immigrant populations. It is seldom spread by casual contact, but more often carried by close contact or infected food (including "raw" milk). There is not the same level of risk to every member of the public. It is irresponsible not to mention these things in this report.

If you come down with TB, you must quarantine until you're no longer infectious and cleared by a doctor. There are different strains of it, some more serious. It can be spread through the air with sneezing, coughing, etc, as well as food. It's no joke and the antibiotic treatment can be anywhere from 6 months to a year. I'm old enough to remember whenTB outbreaks were not uncommon and our schools required yearly Mantoux tests.

You're misinformed. This is found in animal populations as well. Pasteurization removes it from meat and milk. Have you ever heard of tuberculin pork? That's where it comes from. It's often found in pigs, cows and humans. Good god pick up a book, even if it's in audio.
