When I saw those figures of Mary Poppins descend from the sky and "defeat" Voldemort I legitimately cried. Something in that image will always stay with me. It was nice seeing the ceremony acknowledge something like children literature and being proud of it.

Brilliant album. My fav track is Caliban's Dream by Underworld but I also love this track, Elgar's Nimrod (a British institution), and the Four Nations kid's choirs singing songs from our countries that make up the UK. And Emeli Sande's rendition of Abide With Me (another British institution). Many people who turn their noses up at this album haven't even listened to it through properly. I was lucky enough to find the DVDs of the London 2012 Olympics inc the Opening Ceremony so it's easy to fall in love with the music in it. Oh, and Danny Boyle is BRILLIANT!!

The track covers the tribute to the NHS part of the opening ceremony which features the dream sequence referencing British literature - initially infamous bad guys - Voldermort is in with Cruella De Vil and Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but the "straight on until morning" bit read by JK Rowling is from Peter Pan and there is the bit with Mary Poppins saving the kids (who were all patients from G.OS.H.)

Probably the best remakes of Tubular Bells I've seen in a long time. I like the fact that not all of it is from Tubular Bells I, but stretches its grasp to some of the best tracks throughout the Tubular Bells Saga. I also liked this remake because it had its own characteristics that set itself apart from the originals, which gave it originality. In the end, this is one damn good remake that I'm sure I'll be coming back to listen again.

As part of his GCSE or A Level music he had to study & analyse a piece of music. He is a mad Mike Oldfield fan . Brilliant guitarist and he chose to do Tubular Bells 1. He and some of his school mates ended up performing part 1 in front of the school, parents and anyone who wanted to come along. For someone in his mid teens even Mr Oldfield would be proud of what he did. It really was brilliant! I may be wrong but I am sure he tried to contact Mike to come along to see him in action. He supposed to be studying for a degree in something but he’s more interested in his music! If you search “The Cinema Show” on KZbin you can see and hear some of his music magic! Don’t think TB is on! But he has written pieces based around varies we’ll know sporting events!😃
