Going back to the beginning...my very first youtube was for Tubular Chenille stitch. I was a 'rookie'; had the camera too far away and at the wrong angle! So, having learnt loads, I've filmed it again and also done it slightly differently.
In this demo, I hope you'll be able to see things a lot clearer!You'll learn how to make this beautiful beaded bangle (no clasps) from start to finish! It creates a beautiful bead rope that can be used in necklaces or lariats too. Using Size 8/0 seed beads as I do means it bead up really quickly too!
Materials used:
3 x different colours of 8/0's
Beading thread and a needle
The colours I used are all Miyukis:
Sparkle Pewter Lined Crystal
Seafoam Green Matte - PICASSO
Coral Lined Crystal
As always, I would so love to see your makes if you give this one a go! You can post your pictures to my facebook page using the following link:
/ jobarclayloggie
Or if you prefer PDF tutorials, have a look at my Etsy shop where I sell a whole heap of different patterns to what is available for free on KZbin:
www.etsy.com/u...
Any questions...just pop them in the comments below...AND if you've enjoyed this tutorial, please hit the SUBSCRIBE button - it's free - it just means that when I load up new content, you'll get a little notification when you next log in. You'll never miss a tutorial again!
Happy Beading

Thanks for the video, you gained a subscriber. I have watched several tutorials on chenille stitch and yours was by far the clearest. I always watch the videos with captions, I find them less distracting so I didn’t notice if you talked too much, and the text did not seem condescending. You set this up differently and using 3 colors helped. Keep it up.

Good Afternoon, I seem to have lost my last question, so, here goes again, I am a newbie, I have tried this a couple of times but my tension is all wrong it is very floppy & wobbly what am I doing wrong please ?
@JoBarclayLoggie
@JoBarclayLoggie 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gillian Sorry to hear you’re having problems with tubular Chenille Stitch and I’m sure you can appreciate that without actually physically watching you bead or seeing what you’ve done it’s not very easy to say where you’re going wrong. I’m sure not actually doing anything wrong at all... It sounds like you’ve identified the issue yourself with your tension. Tension just comes with practice... some beading requires you to be looser with the thread than others. With all seed beading it’s difficult to get the tension perfect at the start as you have so little to hold onto... but as you progress in the beaded rope and you have a number of rows or rounds completed this should become easier. It’s just a question of ensuring that with each pass you make as well as in the completion of each round, that your thread is pulled through snugly. Sorry to not be of more help... things would be so much easier in a workshop! 😉x
@gillianhuggett3385
@gillianhuggett3385 3 жыл бұрын
@@JoBarclayLoggie Thousand of thanks for the reply. Yes things will be so much easier when the world is back on its axis, and 'face to face' things can start again, UK workshops might be a little problem for me as I am living in France at the moment .I do pull each 'round' tight but it does seem to loosen again pretty quickly again. I will keep trying, the glorious thing with beading is nothing is lost except a little time and that I can put down to 'learning'
@JoBarclayLoggie
@JoBarclayLoggie 3 жыл бұрын
Yes... can’t wait for it all to be over! I’m going to be starting online workshops... so not the same as face to face but we all see each other and what we’re doing. I’m a little late to the party with them as I kind of hope this dreadful virus would do one after the first month of lockdown. 10 months on and things are just as bad... time to get with it and launch lessons online instead of in the studio. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you... you’re right about only losing time but it can be extremely frustrating when you have to keep redoing something. Good Luck with your tubular Chenille... stay safe and keep well...xx

@@JoBarclayLoggie Hello again, well............................ I managed to get some wild fire thread from a friend ( I had just been using some beading thread I had in , I did say I am a newbie so it was a case of using what I had in, I now think it was too thin). As they say if you use the right material you have a better chance of success, I have now produce a small length 3 inches /8cms of what I think is 'perfect tubular chenille stitch' I am really glad I stuck at it and re-watched your video and noticing the thread. I have order some wild fire now so hopefully it will arrive soon and I can have a go at a bracelet. Many thanks for being there for encouragement, I am looking forward to your 'virtual online workshops' when they start, thanks again

That is just the best news I’ve read this morning! It didn’t even occur to me that you might be using a different thread. I tend to use wildfire or fireline in all my beading projects.
