He said quite explicitly that there was no evidence for these allegations, much to the chagrin of his audience. So no, that's not why he was fired. He had the most popular news show in cable history. and brought in millions of subscribers. Firing him has hit Fox's bottom line, and will continue to do so. Most likely he was fired for challenging mainstream narratives about the activities of the US security state. I doubt his 'cultural war' takes even played a role, it's perfectly acceptable to have conservative views about such issues in 'right' leaning media.
