@@mattexe27 Invented by whom to control who exactly? Why is it that governments (like the Roman empire) killed people for following Jesus? The disciples were eye-witnesses to what Jesus had done for three years, and they went to their deaths being told “just recant your faith and you’ll live.” And yet they stood strong and faithful on the witness of what they had seen and lived with Jesus. And throughout their torturing by the hand of the Roman state, and up to their deaths; we have reliable historical documents outside of the Bible writing about how they were singing hymns and praising Jesus. Do some research on textual criticism and the reliability of the New Testament. The historical evidence supporting its authenticity is overwhelming. Which is why I, a former atheist brought up in a non-religious home in secular Norway, became a Christian two years ago.

Life is going to be difficult, whether your rich or poor or old or young God said so in the Bible. But he also said he would be with us and he would give us joy and peace in the circumstances, if we would just have that relationship with him. Not the religion. RELATIONSHIP. That is where so many fall away from God, because they are judging Christianity according to religion and their idea of what God is like because of religion and people. People are flawed, religion is Flawed, but God is perfection. When you go to church go because you want to connect with others that believe in the same Christ you believe in not because they are supposed to be perfect in your eyes.

My son and I were discussing the fear of the Lord yesterday and what that meant. Jon Voight just explained it beautifully in my opinion. Fear of the Lord - Jon got it. He is really afraid of offending God because God is everything, God is love, beauty. Jon said - How can I live up to that? I need a lot of help. I think that’s the fear of the Lord. It keeps you on track. It’s not a fear of getting attacked by anything, it’s a fear of not living up to, of doing the wrong thing, making a terrible mistake. I believe that it's a healthy fear that keeps you grounded in goodness, in what promotes good & healthy living. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. This testimony is awesome!

Man can come out with the idiocy of saying that the Lord doesn't exist, and that the wonder of creation (which is not on any other planet) came though the stupidity of such a thing as evolution. This does not and cannot take away the fact that the gift of life is given by Him; for man to love and serve Him. Life without the Lord on the throne of ones heart makes it empty and dead. Constantly seeking after something, and the result of this folly is that without the Lord in ones life,, literally there is no satisfaction. If the truth of the Lord really means nothing, why are so many quick to try and tear it down? Because the admission of God tears at their conscience, and means that something needs to be done. The rejecting the Truth of the Lord and His incredible love shown in the gift of Jesus Christ His Son and the need for repentance and taking the gift of salvation does not make it cease to exist. “1 The Heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4 Their measuring line goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, 5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. 6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.” Psalm 19v1-6 esv

Interesting passage. It can obviously be interpreted in many ways. I see it as fear of not being who you should or need to be for yourself and others. I see it less as fear of gods wrath and more fear that you will fail yourself and by so doing let love down. Thats why you always need to do your best. That indirectly makes god happy but really it’s connected to love thy neighbour. If you are not your best then you cannot love your family and neigbour to your full, and that is something that is to be feared because they rely on you.

In the early & mid 80s, I wasn't living the life God had planned for me. I was drinking, not attending church, etc. One night as I lay awake, I heard my name being called. It was crisp, clear, authoritative, but loving. I freaked out, looking all over the room. I knew it was the Lord but I still looked. He sure got my attention. Shortly after, I got up on a gloomy morning, knelt at the couch, & gave my life back to God. For over 3 decades, I have been following Him & He's been taking care of me. Life is difficult but everything's better with Jesus!

@David Davison You do not understand the meaning to have 'fear 'of God Almighty, so your judgement is without merit. You may want to learn more about God before you actually come face to face with him.
@kimkerchner2032

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom because when you realize that one day you will stand before God and He will Judge you, and has the power to separate you from Him in a place called Hell, you should tremble with fear. But God also can be your Savior as well. This all depends on how you have responded to what He did for you when He died on the cross 2,000 years ago. So to summarize, God is either going to be your Savior or your Judge. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom because you can do something about it by responding to His sacrifice and allow Him to save you from Judging you and condemning you to a place of utter darkness, separation and despair.
@kimkerchner2032
@kimkerchner2032 3 жыл бұрын
@David Davison Fear is good, because it gives you an opportunity to respond. Ignorance to God's message is no excuse for God to overlook your behavior and because God is a God of Justice, He is required to punish sinful behavior.
