You have a point Mr Carlson!! While Russia's metro station feels like you are entering a beautiful old art museum, China's metro stations look out of this world, very futuristic. In contrast the US metro stations looks like that of a developing country, with graffiti, homeless people sleeping, drag addicts lurking around and heavily infested with rats lol.

As an American who has traveled extensively across Europe, North America, and Latin America, my trip to Moscow last fall stands out as a highlight. The city impressed me with its cleanliness, orderliness, and efficiency. The quality of service and food was exceptional, making Moscow one of my top favorite cities. I am looking forward to revisiting again later this year. Didn’t have not one issue at passport control entering nor departing the country. Met many amazing hospitable people. 🇺🇸🇷🇺💪🏼

I was born in Armenia when it was part of the Soviet Union. And we were brought up with discipline and taught to have manners and respect towards each other. A huge priority was given to education. 90% of the public on the metro had a book in their hand in Moscow back in the 80's and not much has changed even with the influence of the West and the so called "freedom". An ill mannered and uncultured people were looked down upon. Elite meant to be educated and well mannered. Russians have respect for their homeland, they love their motherland and it's evident in every aspect. I was there during the May 9th parade in 2019 and thousands of people marching for hours towards the Kremlin, not a piece of trash was found on the floor during the entire march. They have etiquette and a sense of responsibility for their country. And yes, the metro stations are like museums and the people keep it as such. We can ALL learn a thing or two in the US from Russians. They are not the enemy the West would like us to believe. Thank you for bringing the world's attention to reality.

Unfortunately, Armenia demolished the monument to Lenin in 1991 and almost destroyed all the industry that the USSR left to it, and in general Armenia looks depressing, but they go to Europe like Georgia, where there is only devastation and EU flags on almost every poleceisky site these are achievements in 30 years

I have been living in Moscow for the past 2 years. Prior to Moscow I had lived in Italy and Austria. I can confirm from my personal experience that Moscow is one of the best and safe cities to live…You can walk outside at 2 am without a shred of fear of being mugged. You have 24/7 working services and Very effective transportation system. 4 mins maximum and the next metro train is in. The beauty of life is you don’t need to be rich or be a higher income earner to have a good , modern apartment to live in…anyone who has visited this city would attest to this. This is the reality our media don’t tell us

I'm American. My wife is Russian. I lived in Moscow, on and off, for many years. It's my favorite city in the world, and I always felt safe there. It's clean, respectful, and orderly. Every block has a little park & playground for people to enjoy, and their actual parks are massive forests that you can get lost in. The economic exclusion has been rough for the average person there, but it's still a great city & country. I miss it dearly. The food is also amazing-- especially if you're into sports or bodybuilding.

Ever since Trump took office I have been called communist and every other name you can imagine, all because I won't join the hatred of Russia. I am American and I love what I thought was American freedom. Now I am realizing that people on the left never did love freedom for people who disagree with them. To me that is worse than any kind of communism or nazi socialism because they pretend to themselves that they are democratic. USA was designed to be a constitutional republic. Now we are entering into the phase where name calling is no longer enough. They want violence and imprisonment for people who insist on being free and to make their own choices in life. It will erupt when they think we aren't paying attention.

I am from Spain and I lived for 5 years in Russia (I studied a physics degree in a city called Kazan. I learnt russian the first year and studied at the university the next 4, both completly for free). The people were incredibly nice. At the beginning I was afraid that given the fact that Spain is in NATO the people would be somehow hostile to me, but nevertheless I was treated so good. Their only reaction to my nationality was simple curiosity and some comments about football. The society is very conservative and respectful. You could be from any country or religion, as long as you don't breake the law and treat them with respect, they will show you respect back 100% of the times. Russians are good people, we don't need war with them, we only have to respect their values and to life in peace .

My time in russia I love the metro and public transport system. Over 300 stations in moscow, and every single one of their stations is a work of art. They were absolutely master pieces. In the summer they employee street sweepers to sweep and wash all the monuments in the city. There is little trash in the city, and people got very angry at people for littering. I found the city an absolute dream, and if Texas were ever to stop being my home. Moscow would be the place I would love to call home. Привет друзья! The Saint Petersburg train stations were stunning in a similar way. Not to mention how efficient they are. I've been asking the same question for years... When I visited Russia in 2019 I brought 1000 dollars and couldn't spend it. I stayed right in the center of the city, drank excellent wine, had the freshest and most delicious food. Saw amazing sites. And I come back home... Being told how good I have it? It's all a lie. Our country is decaying, and if we don't do something, we will lose it entirely.

The US is the richest country in the world but the money is in the hands of just a handful of people. The US military budget is more than that of the next ten countries COMBINED - and that includes Russia and China! Just imagine if all of the hundreds of billions of dollars spent to keep a pointless war in Ukraine going would have been spent on the US' decaying infrastructure. Half a century ago a visit to to New York was enough to convince anyone that the US was the biggest, brightest, best country in the world. The skyscrapers, the modern amenities, TV, technology, it was all so far advanced compared to other western countries. Now you'd have to go to Peking or Dubai to get that feeling of culture shock.

I think it’s still nice because the Russians won’t tolerate bad behavior. We are taught to celebrate and embrace bad and destructive behavior. I’m so tired of the filth everywhere and destruction of history. The Elk statue in Portland Oregon still breaks my heart. I remember seeing it when we would go downtown over 30 years ago, my dad loved it, he’s gone now and I’m glad for him that he doesn’t have to see this stuff. He was born in 1936 and loved art and jazz and hunting and his pipe tobacco, our world would make him sick. Anyway, I’m happy in our new home in the Appalachian Mountains

I traveled to Russia in 1999 and twice in 2000, and loved the experience. The Moscow Metro was amazing, the sheer beauty, the vast sense of of history, the richness of culture, was thrilling beyond belief. And the people were warm, gentle, humorous, welcoming, generous. When they heard my feeble attempts to greet and speak to them in the limited conversational Russian I knew, they would respond in the little bit of English they knew. This was the case in homes and cabs! It was delightful, and I would love to go again.

We just had to pay for our Russian visas, plane tickets $1500 per person, and the $800 fee we had to pay included the surgery itself, anesthesia, a specialist performing anesthesia, pain meds and post surgery stay. I remember watching a documentary about life in a Russian prison, very bleak and brutal regime that housed equally brutal men. But what struck me was the way these men talked, murderers and thieves and traffickers who would randomly quote lines from the great Russian literary classics and refer to historical events and figures. This is a level of culture you will not find in any prison in the UK I can assure you. As a side note, not a single prisoner claimed to be innocent and all believed that they deserved their punishment. There was a complete acceptance of their fate without any malice to the people or apparatus that were handing out their punishment. They did bad things, very bad things, and they knew it and saw their punishment as being in the natural order of things. No one to blame but themselves, the only thing to be done was to face it. That was another striking difference. I've always wanted to visit, I hope I will.

My father insisted that i choose Russia, he thought that studying Russia, experiencing the social life there would open a lot of doors for me. My school on the other hand, despite offeirng Russia as one of the options, openly discouraged students from going. We were bombarded with propaganda of how dangerous and wild it is there. In the end i fell victim to the propaganda and chose a very boring destination. To this day i regret not having chosen Russia for my exchange programme. Being in Moscow for just a few hours totally crushed the stereotype of Russian people. We were only there for a 4 hour layover on our way to dulles airport in Washington DC. I was carrying our 1 year old sleeping child and at the place where you put your shoes and belongings in trays to be x-rayed, I accidentally knocked over all the trays so they fell all over the floor, and a thug-looking guy came up to me, saying "it's okay, I help" and he picked up all the trays I had just knocked over. Then a few hours later at the boarding line, baby started crying and people just let us walk to the front of the line. Then after ticket checks, everybody had to take a short bus trip from the airport to the plane, and the bus had no heating or isolation at all in -20 degrees, so a lady came up, took off her scarf and wrapped our baby in it to warm him.

I would not call life in Moscow “a piece of cake” or Moscow itself as a an example of how to build a modern city (far from it in fact and main concern is too much pressure on all infrastructure and ecology, due to very crowded placement of new high buildings, which in most cases even lack underground parking spaces)… But despite everything - there is still humanness in people. This is correct. Russian soul was poisoned in the 90th, but it is far from being defeated ❤

I lived in Belgium and have worked in my company's office in Moscow. It was shocking to me. I expected to see what had been portrayed to me my whole life as a drab place where everyone keeps their head down to avoid being noticed for fear they'll be arrested. OK, maybe my expectation was a bit overly critical, but what I found was amazing. The people were friendly. There were shops everywhere including Starbucks and Burger King. I'm sure I don't understand their government funding scheme, but they pay much less in Income taxes. It was clean and beautiful. I remember talking to a co-worker and I laughed about the propaganda I received growing up in the US about nuclear bombs. She laughed and talked about gas warfare propaganda about the US. Our wars are among the Rich elite and fought by the working class and poor. It's the people - citizens who pay taxes and support these elites - who are literally used as pawns. Tell biden and all politicians - Republicans, independants, and Democrats - they can shove their wars right up their a$$holes!!!!!!! P.S. - DON'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU ABOUT UKRAINE. Zelensky has banned an entire religious group, cancelled all elections and is living quite well versus his bombed out half dead citizens. You are a complete sucker if you believe anything our government tells us these days!!

Dear Mr. Carlson, thank you for your vision. It made me proud of the city I live in. It is a pity that you could not walk our streets in the spring or summer. I hope that someday you will have the opportunity to visit our city in the summer, in bloom. As for me, this is truly the best place to live. Comfort, beauty of the city and the best service, even for not very rich people. I do not consider myself middle class, but even I can take advantage of all the benefits of Moscow: free medicine, education, the opportunity to find a good job and cultural development. I will be glad if you have the opportunity to visit us again. Russian people seem serious and rarely smile, but if you get to know them better, they become true friends for life

Most Americans are as gullible as the Germans from 1933 through 1940. I used to believe that the corporate news media in the United States told the truth but that the news media in other countries lied. Now I am thinking I might have that backwards. The United States is a war mongering nation. When Hitler started the war with Poland, he couldn't come out and say, "I started it." No, he had to say, "The Poles started it." That is about how it is with America--according to the leaders, we are fighting for freedom. Most Americans believed that Russia was evil because it was communist. Now that Russia is not communist, they have to think of other reasons--Russia, in their minds, never quit being evil--the reasons why Russia was evil changed, but Russia remains evil. But the thing is, with the advent of the internet, Americans no longer rely on corporate media for the news, and the independent internet news channels do not report anything that is near like what the corporate media reports.

I visited Moscow in 2013 with my wife. I was absolutely floored by the subway stations! One is a literal art gallery, filled with original works, in oil, on canvas. They date, presumably, from the 30's. No graffiti, no vandalism, no filth, no bums urinating wherever the urge overtakes them. I was particularly taken by the station housing dozens of bronze statues, and how everyone made their way to the statue of a hunter with his sitting dog, and how the dog's knee was kept shiny by the wear of thousands of finger touches each day, for luck. What an amazing city. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience it, for I fear that I may never again see it.

Dear @johngolini332, thanks for a great comment. A little trivia regarding that sitting dog on Ploshad Revolutsii metro station: That dog's parts are shiny because every student in Moscow feels compelled to touch it for luck before their exams. My son's university is located in completely different part of Moscow, but he travels to touch that dog early in the morning before every exam starts. So far it works 🙂

I am an Orthodox Christian and a member of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), with our mother Church being the Russian Orthodox Church. My parish is St. Seraphim in Dallas, TX, which serves as the Cathedral for the Southern United States. We celebrate the Eastern Byzantine Rite, reflecting the traditions and culture of the Russian Orthodox Church. Our parish architecture and many of our parishioners have Russian roots. Through my faith and community, I have come to recognize discrepancies in how the US media portrays Russia. I believe that the narrative often pushed by Western media does not accurately reflect the reality and strengths of Russia. It is important for people to seek out diverse perspectives and understand the broader context beyond what is presented by mainstream media.
