@@cloudpandarism2627 wouldn’t a paramotor benefit greatly from a lightweight turbo or supercharger? It would probably allow it to work at higher altitudes, the only limiting factor would be a way to stay warm but I imagine someone could pipe some of the waste heat into some kind of active warming gear or create a heated seat.

@@glitch1182 I feel like with paramotors, the altitude where the vast majority of people just don't want to go (because it's cold AF) would almost always be lower than the altitude where power loss is a serious issue, even with naturally aspirated motors. I had an EOS Quattro for about 7-8 months last year. I’m 240lbs, and at high altitude. It was by far my favorite cross country machine- period! Unfortunately mine was plagued with oil leaks. I just saw that EOS just went air-cooled with the Quattro and got rid of the oil cooler. If it doesn’t leak, I’ll buy another for sure. I just sold my Factory R, and right now I’m flying a Polini 202. The Polini is closest to the Quattro.

I think the biggest thing will be the fuel use, maybe on a long distance Icarus cup type thing the lower fuel use, especially when laden could maybe offset the extra weight although for 99% of flights where the tanks are easily big enough it makes no real difference. Maybe try it at "touring" weight as a test?

Check the color of your plug, the carb might be jetted for sea level which would cause it to run rich at your ground level. Lean it out a little and see if it starts easier. By the way, I'm one of the commenters who suggested contacting Honda or Yamaha that you mentioned in your previous vid. I'm glad that you're exploring other options as I'm not impressed with the reliability issues of those flashy, expensive Moster engines. I had the same misconception about 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines. Only it was boat engines. I had a 25 HP 2 cycle and bought a 15 HP 4 cycle to replace it. The 4 cycle had a prop almost twice the diameter of my 25 HP 2 cycle and a lot more thrust. My 4 cycle wasn't as quick with "the whole shot", but outperformed the 2 cycle as far as speed. In fact with my fully loaded boat and 3 passengers including myself, I could easily keep up with other boats using a 25 HP 2 cycle.

IMO the things that make 2 stroke paramotors unreliable aren't the "2 stroke" part of it. Coils that fail, dirt in carbs, fuel pump diagrams which I"m guessing this one has as well. The actual short block of the engine don't really fail unless its due to user error (lack of maintenance, poor tuning). I'd love to have lawn mower type of reliability but these high strung 4 strokes are still high maintenance. Comes with the territory.

@@prreith leave off the starter too and just start it with a battery drill! IMO it would be very interesting to look at an even smaller displacement 4 stroke with a tiny turbo on it - they exist for 200cc karts so why not. That would give a ton of torque at low RPM so you could possibly use a direct drive prop and save more weight by leaving out the belt and pulleys. Much quieter (and cooler sounding) exhaust too.

Question are you finding it enough of a game changer to replace your moster?. Is there still home for the 2stroke? I can imagine the quattro mounted to the maverick would be very nice

@@TuckerGott sounds good. Nice to see a proper review on it. Been hearing really good reports in the UK on it. Alot of peoples only concern seems to be the weight but I have a feeling the pros will out weigh the cons but we will see. Looks like it would be a great engine for Bertha
