I think the reason the last stunt was harder than it was supposed to be is that the plexiglass you are using is more flexible than real glass / a thicker piece. That creates a surface that is curved because of your weight on it, and that means that the suction cups have a harder time sticking to the surface. In general, it would be easier to sort of one-arm pull up and then you can press the cups more into the surface (but scarier to get hit in the face if it fails). So if you want to try the stunt again, you have got some tips hahaha. Anyway, I love your content, keep up the good work.

I don't know how the exact mechanism works, but you might also need to reset it with the release button if you fail on the first few pumps.

The boards need to be much closer. The plexiglass distorts which makes it a lot harder to get the suction going.

Those cups would be more effective with a twist-ratchet-pump mechanism. Twist 180º with the arm would have much more power suction than just the thumb, just in a single twist, in that demonstrated push-suck-swing-regrab action. In the critical initial grab would quickly manage for the distorted surface in any time-window when the conformity mismatch was minimal. Naturally, it would require a complete ground-up redesign of the device.

19:00 you might find it easier to hold a "half pull up" position while trying to get it to stick. That way, you can kind of pull yourself up with your stable hand while you're trying to push against the ceiling with the moving hand. But hey, what do I know? Still, super impressive. The problem with the suction cups I believe, is that the glass isn’t flat. With your weight hanging on the glass it’s creating a concaved surface with the suction cup to stick to, that allows air to get into the cups, not allowing them to work the way they are designed

For the hanging suction cup thing I think it would honestly be easier in the movie scenario. The pool glass bottom isn't going to flex and bow like that lexan is doing.

Maybe reinforce the perspex, as it bends when you hang from it, maybe space the boards closer, or cross board it in small sections and use the suckers in between? The bend of the perspex makes it so much more difficult to get proper air tight seal... Awesome vid though, magnus can just do everything

Hey Anton, just know if I was there I'd jump into those boxes instantly.... I've fallen from a lot worse and came out fine. 😁👍😂 Edit: 15:55 - That is not a good way to mount plastic to climb on, especially w/ suction cup handles like that.... They need a very flat surface to work properly and any curve can cause the suction to fail. That's probably what happened to the other guy when he mounted it then went to test it, it just pulled off and smacked him in the face.... If you actually want to do this I suggest thick glass or hard mount the plastic like the spider wall but horizontally, but you can also just glue the plastic to wood sheet and use that. At least it would stop the plastic from deforming under load... Just make sure your glue is 100% covering both surfaces or you can have bubbles or "soft" spots. Also if you do build it, I want to come try it out.... 😉👍

The suction cups were harder then they needed to be. Because you were doing it on a pannel that flexed the pannel was not perfectly flat when you were trying attache the second cup. On a solid piece that stayed ridged and perfectly flat it will be a lot easier

The overhead suction would work better if it wasn't plexi-glass that is warping when it's being pulled down. It would be alot easier on a smooth/ harder surface
