Tucson Adventure: Hiking Brown Mountain Trail & Camping at Gilbert Ray Campground

Hi,
In this two-part episode of Arizona Treks, we traveled to Tucson, Arizona to hike two of the most scenic trails in the area and camp at a convenient campground that close to both trails.
Watch as we hike the Brown Mountain Trail loop and then camp at Gilbert Ray Campground on our first day of our trip.
On day two of our trip, we drove a few short miles to the King Canyon Trailhead to hike to the top of Wasson Peak-the highest point in the Tucson Mountains and Saguaro National Park West.

Gilbert Ray is a nice campground, BUT it has been taken over by the party crowd, and you will NOT have any peace & quiet. I suggest you have a Plan B and Plan C in place for other areas. There is no longer a campground host on site, so if you have trouble with noisy people, there's no way to get help. Very sad people have to behave this way. I spent 3 nights there last week, and it was miserable. Halfway thru the 3rd night, I packed up and left, couldn't take it anymore.

@@socalairshowreview7410 Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I stayed there in Feb/March & didn’t have any issues-it’s convenient to Saguaro National Park & other parks/trails. Hopefully they’ll that these issues under control so people can enjoy it again.
