Tudor Black Bay 58 - Is The Hype Justified?

I am fortunate to own a lot of high-end watches from the likes of Rolex, AP, Patek, ALS, Cartier, JLC, Omega, and Tudor. If forced to pick one to keep and sell the rest….I’d keep my Tudor BB58 blue. It’s just THAT good!

The fact that it is a Tudor should be more than enough to say this is no hype. I am and will always be a fan of the classic design because of its timeless design. It also goes well with any type of attire you wear. And of course, the exquisite elements of Tudor watches just stands out.

When it was released in 2018 I fell in love. 2 years later I was lucky enough to be an owner. And another 2 year's on nothing has changed its my favourite watch in a large collection.

I recently met someone wearing one and I immediately recognized the watch. It looked good but not great.. Weeks after I got a black submariner date, no one has ever noticed it. I like it though, but not more than my Datejust. So in reality it is all hype about both the Sub and the BB. My recommendation... Buy what you truly like and don't follow or support the hype.

I hope that the quality of Tudor is better than it was in the '90. I had a submariner 9401 snowflake back in the '90 with the crown of Rolex on the steel marked. But i was disappointed on the quality at different levels after wearing it a few years.. I am wearing now a vintage rolex submariner 16800 from '84 of my father who passed away. This watch is still running as new and he looks and feels like new although it is a vintage watch. The Tudors are very good looking watches! Best

I have the red bezel Black Bay 58 and absolutely love it. Has to be one of the best price/value daily wear watch I've ever own. I like it so much I'm seriously thinking of getting a blue one as well.

Red bezel 58 does not exist. That would be a Heritage 41mm.

he Tudor Black Bay 58 was first launched in 2018 .to make something for learning new. looks significantly better the black bay 58.

There is no red bezel 58 (yet). Heritage 41, yes.

Tudor does have potential or possibility on being more than just the sister company of Rolex and getting away from their shadow. However, no one touches on that eyesore which are the RIVETS that has no practicality or functionality. I think that is a design flaw, oversight or simply a mistake from the Design Department or an oversight from the Quality Control Department.

The Tudor Black Bay 58 has a really attractive diver’s retro design. However, it is a bit too small for me as it is only 39mm in size.
