Definitely a contender. Also the bezel action is precise and great. If Tudor removed text line “Officially Certified “ it would even be better.

I actually prefer to see more micro-adjustment as diver extension than clasp, too bad I don't see many people doing that and in this Pelagos case, it should be more benefit

I really like the Pelagos 39. It looks good, and is a great size. The retro watches were fun, but I like the very modern design of the Pelagos. Thank you for the nice video.

When I tried the P39 on, it gave me vintage Sub vibes in the feel/size on wrist. I tried on a vintage Sub closer to when I tried the P39 on, so it was fresh on my mind. The only thing I want now is for them to come out with a blue version.

It has micro adjust and a divers extention you don't get that on the 43mm Sea Dweller. Sounds like a great contender for the best dive watch.😊

Have you tried the midsize quartz Seamaster 2561.80? I wore a friend's recently. Its 36mm, 10.5mm thick, awesomely accurate... perfect tool watch that fits your criteria (i have the 41mm version - the 2541.80 as my main watch and its superb)..

I've got a Squale Sub39rd Superblue and a Baltic Aquascaphe, have room for one more diver so will probably go for a BB58 in the next few months - it's that red pip at the top of the bezel that calls out to me, it will have to be the black dial version though considering that I have two blue dial divers. It might be a guy thing but I find the weight of steel to be reassuring when compared to titanium. I have a cheap solar powered titanium at my brothers place in the UK for me to pick up when I'm there next. Will give me a chance to just try it out as an experiment and I can always give it away after.
@PurebredInnovator Жыл бұрын
It is one of the best although if you have a large enough wrist I prefer the larger Pelagos 42 over the 39. The 42 has a date and the dial just has a more "3D" feel to it which I prefer. I own the blue one and it is such a great dive/tool watch for more casual use. Titanium is also great, lighter than my other divers while still feeling like a quality watch. Scratches do show on it though, getting used to that. I do hope that they make a blue version of the Pelagos 39 though for variety. Some green within the Pelagos line one day would be neat too. In terms of content, I think you should make a video on good or recommended titanium watches within certain price ranges. The Pelagos 42 is my first titanium watch and now I am looking for others but due to the colour of the metal and the fact that it is more difficult to work with most of them are only in black (one of the major reasons I bought the blue 42 model).

Are you not a fan of the bb58 in blue as it’s a more modern looking aesthetic of the 58 whilst maintaining the vintage q’s. Same dims as the pelagos 39 pretty much too if that’s your thang?

Wear mine every day, even take it hiking 😅 It is so lightweight you forget you are wearing it. The titanium doesn’t seem as scratch resistant as stainless though…

Good to hear! They're made to be worn! Titanium does scratch slightly easier than steel, but that doesn't bother me. I love the lightweightedness (not sure if that's a real word but you know what I mean 😂) of it!

Pelagos 39 is the modern Submariner whilst The Pelagos is the modern Sea Dweller. Titanium is corrosion resistance to the salt water compared to the stainless steel. So it is perfect for diving imo. I got the OG black version BB58 a month ago. Already have my sight on this one now hahaha. If i do get this one, my next goal will be learning how to dive , not joking hahah.

OMG!! I just realized we've met just recently I think 😮 (Keep up the good content 😊) To your question in the video, I think titanium is a good material for tool watches since they're durable and for it's purpose. But when they get scratched, it's more visible...that's the part that stopped me on it (unless they made different colour variations haha, then I might reconsider)

defo a contender purely because of the trend of 39mm dive watches (way too small for my 8" wrist!) - when it comes to being a fully functional dive watch though, i AM a diver - i got rid of me Seamaster because ultimately it was a poor dive watch in cold UK conditions - wearing gloves made the scalloped bezel hard to turn, the skeleton hands are hard to see and the helium escape valve just hideous - let alone the non tapering bracelet uncomfortable! I sold it and wnt for a 42mm blue pelagos - best decision ever made - SO much a better all round diver - so see why today 39mm is desirable for people with smaller wrists!

This and the BB54 are top of the Tudor line up for me. And controversially the smaller Royal as well 😬

Hey Watch Box Fairy 😉 it's me again. We have the same wrist size 😁 ( i know, my wrist is small for a guy). We can possibly swap watches sometimes 🤭 I love the Pelagos 39, am on a waitlist for one 😊 The tool watch oozes "utility" vibes all over, with a touch of playfulness (red text) 😉 Hope to land one before Xmas, my Santa's wish 😊
@nkonig1 Жыл бұрын
Probably. When it comes to mechanical watches, then for the price it’s hard to beat. Though I don’t really like the use of “tool” when it comes to any mechanical watches. Using something for £3k as a tool when something for £500 or under can do the job better makes no sense to me.
@nkonig1 Жыл бұрын
…then again. Am I putting words in your mouth? Did you even say it was a “tool” watch! 😂 I’ll watch again! 😂 Either way, great watch and great vid. 👍
@TheWatchBoxDiaries Жыл бұрын
😂😂😂 I mean..I called it a dive watch but I did mention tool watch. GUILTYYYYY. However I use the term to describe aesthetic and robustness. There are always watches at a lower price point that can achieve a similar requirement. Around this price range, this definitely ticks a lot of boxes!
@nkonig1 Жыл бұрын
@@TheWatchBoxDiaries it definitely does tick a lot of boxes. Although it’s not one I’ll buy, it’s probably Tudor’s best watch so far. I used to prefer their retro designs but I’ve kinda gone off the faux vintage look, too overplayed and there’s a big degree of inauthenticity about it. We need to buy new to create our own vintage watches! Either that or buy genuine vintage.

It may be the best modern Tudor ;) ... I appreciate Im in the minority here but I struggle to like Tudor with its oversize snowflake hands. This one looks great on paper although I think the older version has a little more personality (this one feels as if its been designed for a 30 something middle managering family man with a mid range Audi and a Spaniel called Bailey). How is the pelagos 39 boring when the FXD is essentially the same look albeit larger with fixed lugs and a fully graduated insert? Doesn't make sense.
