Happy Belated Birthday, Kelly!!! I always enjoy seeing the things you ladies make (knitted & sewn) for grandkids… well, in addition to your own knits, of course. Your V-neck Riptides are gorgeous! If I were to win the patterns, I would definitely start with a scarf/shawl because I already have enough yarn. Then, the V-neck Riptide would come after I chose the perfect yarn. It’s lovely being a granny I had two small sons of ten months and two when I was widowed and these beautiful sons got me through each day they’re now 39 and 41 and both dads and one is a self employed electrical engineer and younger a firefighter and am so proud of them so 70 next week is bit daunting late hu#band shared same birthday although two years older but only got to 33 poor soul but life went on x

Kelly. Idea… rip the current sock back to the repeat that you used to start the sock. Start your 2nd sock and knit to the same spot as the 1st sock. Then micro manage your colors to match! Lots of work probably…

Your vests are stunning. I bought a cone of coast. Is it my imagination or does it feel different than the cakes. Got California blue coast and a stash bag of cherry to go with 2 shades of grey for a summer stripe rectangular shawl/scarf. Double seed stitch I think. Thanks for all the eye candy. I don’t know if this is a new feature, or if I just didn’t realize it when I first started using Knit Companion, but in the settings there is a switch to turn on for iCloud. If you turn it on in the app on both your iPhone and iPad, the projects will sync! Your progress will sync as well.

I'm just starting to be knitting in public places. I did take my knitting to the hairdresser's the other day, and it brought back fond memories to the stylist of her mother knitting. So, another reason to knit in public...it brings joy to others 😄❤

I so agree , would love for knitting to be more acceptable. I don't know anyone local who knits that would show hubby that, it is something people do , and still engage. I can watch TV and if I am knitting , would like it to be okay, not considered rude. Speaking of age, I am at that age where husband is slowly retiring , not that he doesn't deserve to retire of course lol , maybe time to find him a hobby?? hahaha , it is just I've been self employed since youngest was born , daughters are now on their own ( 30, 34) so all these years , when work was slow I've been able to knit. Like now listening . :D

Totally agree! especially knitting on an easy project, it doesn’t require any concentration so it’s very easy to focus on conversation. I hope that your husband finds a hobby that interest him. Even being retired I still can’t find enough time to do all the things that I enjoy doing.

Gurl, I knit everywhere. Restaurants, public transportation, sports games, shows, my kids’ competitions. I knit at meals with friends if they are very close friends whom I am comfortable with, and usually only before the food arrives or when we’re done eating and just lingering. 😊

There is a Norwegian American couple who attend my church and they both knit during services. The husband also teaches men to knit at Norwegian summer camp programs where all sorts of cultural things are taught.
