Thank you for all this expert advice. Patterns used to fit me right out of the envelope. Now, my waist is under my bust and I struggle to fit pants. I would love to make slopers of my body but I struggle to do it alone. I have no garment sewing friends only quilters!

Please visit our fitting page where you will find the Easy Check Measuring Tape, a tool that allows you to measure yourself accurately and we have a Fitting Support package where I will help you online with photos. I think this video should be mandatory viewing for all garment sewists about why patterns don't fit out of the envelope. It is certainly a case of you don't know what you don't know. I have heard about the pressing seams and melding stitches and done this but I agree it probably doesn't make much difference just extra pressing. Always love your enlightening information. Thanks
