Tuft a rug with me Part 1

Hey everyone, today I'm showing you the process from start to finish of me creating a tufted rug. This one's a two-parter since the process has so many steps from placing the fabric to finally finishing and putting the final touches on a rug. Hey there so I connected the square with 4 foot by 4 foot wooden 2x4 boards and I have two 6 foot-ish 2x4 boards on the sides holding them up. Then for the “feet” I have two 2 foot 2x4s as well. I combined everything with a combination of 2 inch and 4 inch screws and a few 90 degree metal braces to keep some of the boards more stable.

What kind of tufting fabric do you use?

Typically I search tufting backing on Amazon and I try to go for the fabric that has the little yellow lines through it, I believe some call it monks cloth. That specific material is typically more stable for long tufting sessions in my experience ! Some people use burlap material but I’ve heard it’s too brittle so I just stick with what’s been working for me.
