@@FlavorWorld it really depends. I crochet and yarn prices vary so much. I could by ~100 yards of yarn for $2-$6 but I could spend upwards of 12 hours on a piece using that yarn. I better get paid more than $6 for 12 hours of work. 😂

If you are making a quality wool rug that will last years and actually stand up to use, you are talking somewhere in the neighborhood of $25/sq foot for JUST THE YARN! If you use cheap acrylic yarn and walk on it every day, you will only get a few months of use out of it before it looks pretty shabby. For wall hangings and decorative pieces you aren't walking on with shoes, then you can do it cheaply, for a quality rug, the supplies cost a lot.

Love your tufting videos! I'm trying to find the TEC glue since it's low-odor compared to Roberts, but it seems to have a high shipping cost ($20+) online. Is it in any particular retail store?

Honestly, it's tough if you want to make detailed rugs to profit. Mine take me around 15 hours but they are far more complicated and I apply a thick rubber non slip backing. I guess selling low quality simple rugs is more profitable

just gotta find the market for your work! there are a lot of people willing to pay a lot of money for an awesome rug, they are just harder to find than the people that want to spend $100 on a Nike logo rug. They're out there though! participate in art shows and you will find them.
