Try out the Commander Quest demo on Steam: ggcont.me/4gJUihf
@CommanderQuest-k6sАй бұрын
*Hello Wanderbots and all KZbin subscribers!* *We’re CommanderQuest.* Thank you so much for the interest and support you’ve shown, even though our demo build is still far from perfect. We know that our game is still in its early stages and might not fully impress fans of the deck-building genre just yet. But despite this, we’ve decided to share it with you and hear your feedback. Just like the *Slay the Spire devs, who released an early, rough build and turned it into a masterpiece thanks to player feedback, we’re aiming for a similar journey.* As you can see, being a demo, there’s still a lot that needs polishing. Our goal is for CommanderQuest to become a game with tighter synergies, more replayability, and unique features that set it apart. Right now, we’ve paid homage to *Slay the Spire* in many ways, but our focus has been on creating a *distinct* in-game experience that shows off the potential of our game-even within the "limited time" we’ve had for development. We’ve spent a lot of time transitioning the "synergies from card play" to what you can actually see "on the field," which has been a huge focus for us. As fans of deck-building roguelikes and as developers, we promise never to lose sight of our duty to create something fresh and different from what’s already out there. By the time we hit Early Access and full release, we promise that CommanderQuest will bring enough value and originality to stand out in the deck-building roguelike genre. Even though the demo isn’t fully polished yet, we’d really appreciate your belief in the game’s potential. We won’t stop-your feedback will guide us as we keep improving the game to create something that truly satisfies fans of the genre. CommanderQuest will be showcased at Steam's NextFest starting October 15th. We’d love your support-please wishlist the game, share your feedback, and help us grow! We’re listening to every comment, every piece of feedback, whether it’s through KZbin or our Discord. *We’ll always stay true to our passion and keep communicating honestly with you. Thank you so much!*

Any chance this will be on switch?

@@greenmushroom4258 We are still open to all platforms, as long as it's a place where this game will be welcomed by players. We are actively listening to feedback from users who want to play on the Nintendo Switch, and we'll positively consider it. For now, we plan to test the game using console controllers, which will be our first step toward supporting our console gamers.

This looks like a fun deckbuilder. I'm not sold on calling it an RTS though.
@LittleDanny9899Ай бұрын
Yhea it has absolutely no RTS Features No base Building no Control over units nothing Frankly its just a Tug of war Deckbuilder I mean its fine and i would even say i likely like it more due to that
@tacolord256125 күн бұрын
agreed game looks like it has great protentional but as of this moment there isnt a lick of RTS in it, like i was thinking your mana was gonna be on a timer recharging as you placed units/buff down and that'd be what made it an RTS but no, not sure if its better or worse for it but regardless not an RTS

Gotta say this is a pretty fresh take on the autobattler/deckbuilder genres. I'm a bit burned out on those genres but this game got me interested.
@abraxis59Ай бұрын
This looks fun but it is definitely mislabeled. This is very clearly a turn based auto battler. This for me is a good thing 😀

Same. It's a shame Warcraft Rumble is so buggy, unoptimized, and P2W, because the core gameplay is great.

Thanks for the vid Wanderbots. Finished my first run with Richard. It's more of a Clash Arena style than an RTS but with rouge-like STS campaign. The meta progression is woeful. Game is fun tho!!

This game reminds me so much of old school flash games like Epic War, Archer, Lord of the Rings battle something something, Age of War, …. Love this style, just modernized it
@Spikeba11Ай бұрын
This is not real time, it is turn based. Therefore it cannot be RTS. Therefore this is a "strategy" game not a "real time strategy", there is no reflexes or clicks per second mattering here. Edit: some cards look like they can be used "out of turn" but That isn't nearly enough to call it a real time game.
@wanderbotsАй бұрын
You can play cards at any time, so it is an RTS, I just chose not to.
@drakonslayer8279Ай бұрын
it does feel like more of an auto battler than an RTS

Checked the game out on steam, and the Demo is free so I'd really recommend if this looks even a little interesting to go and try it out, like i said the demo is free (as of me typing this out) ive always struggled with deck building despite loving it so i was hesitant to spend money on another one love when devs do free demos allows us to enjoy and get a feel for a game and gives them good feedback and hopefully a larger platform to know if transitioning the game into its full form is worth
@derekjepson5012Ай бұрын
It depends on your deck, but there are decks that generate mana stones and other effects as units die, making them more reactive playstyles.

Games can simply be of 2 genres. (also RTS is a subgenre already)
@Beserk_NinjaАй бұрын
Big decks are just as good as small decks. (Haha), but really though. Small decks mean you always know what you're getting, but you typically have the issues of making sure the value of those cards can handle what's being thrown at you as well as not getting ruined by enemies that give you trash/curse cards. Big decks will typically mean you might get a bad starting hand, but if you picked cards that aim to allow you to play more cards per turn (draw/play on draw or discard/+energy, etc.) you'd usually be guaranteed to get what you want beyond a certain turn depending on your deck size. The big benefit is that you can often ignore trash/curse cards because you'll either be able to discard them or you simply won't see them often due to how long it takes you to cycle. Though obviously it depends on what options the game in question gives you. Rant done. o/

53:24 - insanely lucky to randomly pull the ascetic right when you needed him. That fricking ram has 600 health and will wreck your commander, but that units counters it for 0 mana, draining his massive 600 health down to 1. I didn't have him and nothing else seems strong against it, i had the guy with 5 multi shot who also ignores his armor and i had his dmg multiplied by 3.. managed to kill it ,but since it drained all my resources doing so, i lost from attacks from the other lanes.

Yea definitely isn't an RTS. Tug of war fits, but i'd call it a roguelike deckbuilder with auto battler units. Very unique haven't seen anything else like it, but another game i really love hadean tactics is similar, though you mostly draft units in that game rather than summon them, but it has the same ~6-8 second attobattle/ cards/autobattler/autopause back to cards mechanic.
