Tugboat 7200hp Assisting MSC Itea

In this video you can see the MSC Itea being assisted from the Zandvlietlock to her berth. The assisting tug is a 75ton bollard pull Voith Schneider tractortug, with 7200hp.

@urbex2007 : we use steel wire of 4 to 5cm diameter. Depending on the type of tug.

xPlasticOctopusx That can be numerous things. Probably the hydraulics that operate the winches, or the generators/engines in the engineroom.

Joseph Pollard Joseph Pollard Well to be honest, a lot of people don't know the true power of tugboats. But i honestly think that our tugboats would win a tug of war with a D9 or even a D10 dozer. Unfortunately that would never be possible to test since the company I work for would not give permission to test that ;)

I think you are correct. I would wager that your tug would win against multiple dozers in "tug"of war.
