As soon as this song talks about Ariah....watch out, it's like a baseball bat of truth to the skull. It has to be one of the most impactful things I've ever heard. I'm now a granddad of two granddaughters, 5 and 7, the realization that this is exactly the world we're bringing them into hits really hard. I've no idea where he gets this stuff.

Being born in 1964 things were a little different than it has become. I was skinny and still am today. At 5ft 10 140lb since 9th grade I was subjected to many forms of ridicule. Hang him up in the health room as a skeleton, stand sideways with tongue out and I look like a zipper. I accepted my body and still do. The inner me is what matters to me and having that way of thinking has been a blessing. I have lost a few friends due to them not accepting who they were inside and it's still painful today to never get to see what they could have become. Inner strength and positive attitude will always make for a better life. Thanks Cliff for having such a big heart

I think what is great about this song is the way it builds up. Sounds like a pop song, lots of chorus, repetition, there seems to be some social commentary but then towards the end Ren starts firing the words, you are almost caught unaware. Impactful song indeed.

This one, I feel is such an important song. I recommended it to a mental health professional that I see from time to time. Every single line is unfortunate AND true. Each delivered with conviction and a cry in his voice. The passion, you spoke of. The thing about Ren's music, is he writes through the eyes of human experience. Something we ALL have in common. That is why it appeals to people of ALL age brackets. There are certain songs of his that are so important, the world should HEAR them. This is INDEED one of them.

As a 40 yr old woman, I have been through the ringer of not feeling enough for societies expectations. I've come to realize that I could look absolutely perfect and it still wouldn't be enough. In "Hi Ren" when he said "we are all human beings" a light switched on. I am only human, the beautiful people on magazines are only human, we all go through the exact same struggles, why do we suffer together instead of lifting each other up? I have always been deeply empathetic and loving to everyone I meet, but I would shove that part of me down and focus on how I looked. In my Ren induced state of enlightenment, I realized that is what makes me beautiful; I care for people and their wellbeing. I since have started making it a point to compliment as many strangers as possible every day. When I see I've Brightened someone's day, it lifts us both up and ripples out further into the world. I would like to encourage anyone reading this to do this as well. When someone allows me to go ahead of them in line I look at them lovingly and say "you are so kind thank you!" or I see someone looking extra grumpy, I find something about them, exaggerate it, and tell them how beautiful it is. I am now addicted to seeing confidence wash over these strangers. I feel more secure with every compliment I give and that is beauty.🥰🥰🥰🥰

Look at what Ren is doing! I have honestly been in awe seeing this incredible movement of people have their lives completely changed by Ren. I’ve read so many comments of positive change people have made in their life, somewhat like you have, though yours is unique and I love it! What is astonishing is that because of their initial positive changes, it leads directly to someone else finding hope in their life (like deciding to live) or the courage to take a leap toward a goal/project they’ve avoided. Or musicians that had months/years long writers block, that just disappeared soon after reacting to Hi Ren. Others who decided to start playing their instruments, singing or doing art again after being inspired by Ren. One of my favorites though is a mental health worker (can’t remember exactly what CD d) who saw Sick Boi. At first he seemed irritated by the depiction of the Doctor, but I think it was more disgusted. He said he always felt like he showed attentive care, but then he asked “Have I actually shown it though, have I ever came across like this to my patients?.” I was honestly shocked, but then I teared up. It might be a small gesture within healthcare but it’s certainly something Ren wants to see changes in and to have someone take your words and internalize them to make sure they are being a better Doctor/person, it’s so wonderful. I know there are many more stories, but for me personally, at first I was just so grateful to have found his amazing music. I love music and have hated mainstream almost everything for a long time. He is a breath of fresh air for sure. But now, now I’m overwhelmingly grateful to have found him as a person and very thankful that I took the time to learn more about who he is. After everything he’s been through, his resolve is something to admire and aspire to. His capacity to show empathy for what seems like everyone, sometimes even all at once, it is incredible and overwhelming to me and I can’t imagine what that might feel like for him. He has restored a little chunk of my faith in humanity and I feel lucky to get to witness his rise and watch as he rises up anyone that he can along his way.

@@Beckaj5446 I actually responded to that doctors reaction video, I've struggled with my mental health my whole life and I've never had a doctor willing to take me seriously because of that. I am so grateful for Ren, the world will be a much better place once all 7 billion of us hear his message. 💗💗💗

Beautiful and powerful song from Ren. Thank you Cliff for your kind thoughts and support. Bless your heart. It starts young and just becomes worse for females as they grow older and it truly never ends until we say enough. We ARE all connected by our emotions and the more we connect and bring each other up the more we can all make a REAL difference not just for ourselves but for others... And the feeling of being able to help others is so much better rhan anything money can buy Thank you for helping to spread this message and be open on a public platform. ❤

Songs like this and Baz Luhrmann's Everybody's free (to wear Sunscreen) might not be able to cure people, but I truly believe they help remind us that we are all human, we all have struggles of some sort or other, we should all embrace our uniqueness, and we are not alone. You've probably already heard it, but maybe you could react to Baz's song anyway, the 7min version. Help bring it back a bit... a lot of really good advice in it for everyone in a mellow yet positive tone. It's certainly helped me during some dark times over the last 20+ years.
