Yes , these videos are Zen for me. I don’t need a beginning or end. I enjoy the process . I enjoy watching them fix the motor. They might not enjoy that. I have no suggestions on what makes a better video or not. I watch the videos and like a good meal I am satisfied . Aloha, Richard

Welcome to the club...been in the Bahamas almost 2 weeks...ran aground 5 Times. 2 time resulted in having to wait for high tide one of which was an overnighter. Another was a dragged anchor during a strong blow and we washed up onto the beach. Gotta love it!!!

A very genuine thank you, not only for a great video, but another quick trip back to the summer of 1974, exploring Hope Town with my girlfriend, and discovering the finest Manhattan-style conch chowder to ever be served. The name sounds a bit odd but, it and other long dormant memories of Hope Town are frankly like nearly forgotten pleasures. Sorry for the nostalgia, but thanks to all of you. It looks as if its a bit cool, so may you be blessed by fair breezes, warm following seas and new memories of your own.

Looks like a great time. My wife and I went there for our honeymoon in 2005 and stayed next to the cemetary. That cemetary wasn't mentioned on their website, but we were steps to the beach. Rented a twin vee that handled nicely - was windy.

with my 5 ft draft, I didn't even consider Don't Rock. the deeper path through it changes with every storm, glad you made it with no damage. Whale Cay Cut is not bad as long as you wait for settled weather & seas. Everyone tells you to listen to the daily cruisers net for the Whale condition. But when I was there, nobody was giving any daily condition reports on the Whale. From the right vantage point you can see if there are breakers in the cut.

You have to remember that the waves. Fifty percent of the wave is higher than the water level and fifty percent below water level. The front and the back of the boat will be lower than water level.

We were just in Hopetown a week ago. I think we were there on 14 March 2018. Just as I remember it, a quaint chick spot. We were staying at a friend's cottage in Cherokee Sound. That is an awesome little town. Friendliest folks. I lost a GoPro 3+ there after trekking down to the Hole-in-the Wall Lighthouse and seeing some Abaco Parrots. Long narrow road. It would be worth it to anchor in the lee and climb up to it, though.

Lucky! 😥 I think I was holding my breath watching u guys cross the shallows! Stay out in the deep water ! ( and it's pronounced 'Frennel' lens) ✌
@BruceInFlorida6 жыл бұрын
Wow... it sure looked sketchy the way that bottom was turning a white color, when that sand was getting shallow. Do you have the "kick up" rudders like James has? Please say NO.... one ( or two ) less things to have fall off the boat :) It would be so kewl to get inside that Hopetowne Light to get pics of the Fresnel lens, the kerosene light and inner workings. That's a real piece of living history that is destined to soon be replaced. I'd really appreciate a few pics of inside that Hopetowne Light !! BE SAFE !

Thank you for showing what I may never be able to see. Wile, you are telling where you are I am using google earth to look at the same time. So cool. Did you ever read the book Winds from the Carolinas? It is a great story about the loyalist that settled in the Bahamas. Mainly deals withthe Exumas. We spent some time in Hopetown back in the 60s. Cant believe how many yachts are there now. Are you going to get over to Harbour Island and SpanishWells?

Rough conditions well change your depths. Going thru there when it was flat calm would be different. You are raising and lowering just as the water is moving higher and lower. I suppose that is the difference.
