Tulips and Perennials Springing Back

Today we'll take a look at the tulips growing in my raised bed. Then we'll walk around and see what's springing up all over the yard. So many perennials are bursting forth! Such an exciting time for gardeners!

Wow your tulips look great! I tried here in San Antonio this year, and even after 2 months of chilling, they've all come up scraggly and turning purple. You must have the tulip touch 😄

I found they hate our soil, so I only plant them in raised beds with store bought compost! 🤨

Wow my bearded irises haven’t done nearly as well as those! I think the soil I have them in is probably too sandy/dense.

Add bags of compost and mix it in! That should help. Iris' don't need much soil amending.

I live in the same area and my daffodils flopped over after the heat-cold-heat of a week! It's my first season planting them will they come back next year if I leave them be? Most of mine are in pots but I have a couple in-ground.

The ones in the ground will come back every year and they'll continue to spread and fill out! Leave the green leaves on the plant until they completely turn brown as this feeds the bulbs for next year.
