I’ve ridden Tulireki way more than once and I never really liked it because of the shaking. I’m glad Mack is focusing on different models and doesn’t make the e-motion anymore

I think the concept of a “drifting coaster” is really unique and I praise Mack for trying to bring that into fruition but the concept was poorly executed. It’s a shame because this ride would be fun (although not perfect) without the roughness. I guess Seven Dwarfs is the closest we have to a successful clone to this, even if it’s a family coaster.
@CanobieCoaster3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't mind them trying again, but they shouldn't have the forwards-backwards rocking.
@lunastilllovesquag15747 ай бұрын
I mean, there also the "drifting coaster" on european fairs that focuses much more heavily on the swinging. So... we do have another one!
@aapee5653 жыл бұрын
If the second breakrun isn't painful, then consider yourself lucky that the coaster was running slow. When it opened me and my sistee both almost wet outselves on our first ride as the lapbars essentially crushed our bladders when we hit the brakes. It can still be just as bad - this year a kid behind me started crying on those brakes and I can't blame him, it was a terrible ride. It is funny to see a queue full of people advancing at a snails pace toward certain doom. Now that I think about it, in the past years the coaster either has no line or the entire queue is full. I still take this over a volaire, though...

I prefer Volares.

I actually used to love this coaster when I was about 8 years old, but now after reriding it I have realized how bad it actually is. I wish they could turn off the forward and backward rocking, Tulireki would be so much more comfortable then.

I have always wondered if you could make wood coasters feel smoother by having a body-on-frame trains, and using automotive motor mounts to mount the body to the frame. This story makes me reconsider that opinion, or at least think that the engineering to make this system worthwhile is more work than just maintaining/fabricating better track and trains.
@CanobieCoaster3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure!

Active stabilizer only relieve the janky track effect, not the roughness of the track (because of response limitation). Just look at British APT train ads. The train can actively tilting to relieve the unbanked turn, but still rocking like a hell.

Not a fan of that side to side swinging, it ruins the laterals which is the only reason I ride Wild Mouse coasters, for the laterals. Although its still a unique concept that I wouldn't expect Mack to do but it makes sense as they make a lot of the wild mouses.

If I ask you about Tulireki's drop, pullout and forces, Canobie Coaster would say: The change of elevation on the drop initiates the forward-backward motion. Rocking and bouncing down a drop at the same time is not a comfortable experience. It feels like a shopping cart rolling down a cobblestone hill. And the tight pullout delivers a sudden burst of positive Gs. Normally I'd enjoy a display of force like this. Tulireki actually pulls 3.5 Gs, but... A) it is comfortable. B) it is uncomfortable.
