Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so!

I actually searched for this commercial after seeing it on television. I'm kind of shocked by all the hateful comments. I thought the video was quite lovely. I would also like to add that one can be of color and still be Irish, it's not common, but surely it is not impossible. I do have a question for some of you, what's so wrong with promoting diversity? I find that diversity can cure one's ignorance.
@johnburke43617 жыл бұрын
I have no problem with promoting diversity either. But ignorant people are losing their minds saying that this is cultural appropriation propaganda in Ireland. This is set in New York City and has nothing to do with Ireland. Here's the link www.tullamoredew.com/en-gb/beauty-of-blend/

Wait-wut? You could move to Ireland, become a citizen, and that makes you IRISH? Or, your dark-skinned African-continent parents immigrate to Ireland, you're born there and that makes you IRISH? OMG! I really don't get all the haters with this ad campaign because a)It's an ad campaign (which, by definition, is designed to get you to purchase the product) and b)It is literally preaching about what makes America (colloquial for U.S.A.) great. Yeah, diversity is great. Most of the people that I've met in the U.S. that can't empathize outside their own skin haven't traveled outside their own 100 mile pond let alone the U.S. The big world is getting smaller and smaller and there's a lot of interesting places and people in them if, people would only take the chance to open their minds and broaden their horizons. If there could be one program I could fund (rather than building a wall), it would be to send families, that have no passport and never traveled beyond what they can see, off to some remote [safe] part of the world - far from removed from their typical life experience - to show them that the world is not really a scary place and that most peoples all around the world really want the same things: to live a comfortable life; to provide for their families; to engage [or not] in their own spiritual practices; to not be fettered in their lives by others and to let others live the same. Most of our conflicts come not from the 'everyman' but from those who would set us against each other to further their own agendas. To Everyman, I raise a glass.

Jack Burke The way you're "educating" here is pretty annoying.
@johnburke43616 жыл бұрын
I agree that I may be going overboard with this but people will continue to proclaim their points of view and I will continue to point out the fact that they are flat out wrong. It's also pretty annoying the irrational stupidity of some people. Not much "educating" going on either, just pointing out facts to biased people who have to give everyone their two cents without knowing the context behind the situation, even though they have the internet right in front of them and refuse to use it
@hellokoukkouk60076 жыл бұрын
we are not flat out wrong at all..we cant imagine that this is new york city..soo..yeah..YOU are wrong
@johnburke43616 жыл бұрын
Profound response. If you "can't imagine" this is set in NYC then there is definitely no way that it could be, even if I gave you the link where the creators explained this video being set in NYC. You can also check out the "No Irish Need Apply" video that is set in the exact same bar with the Brooklyn Bridge visible outside the window. It is human nature to struggle to admit that one is wrong, even with something as small and meaningless as a whiskey commercial, but just because you want this to be set in Ireland so you can be outraged doesn't mean that it is. Just because you "can't imagine" something to be true doesn't mean that it isn't true. You continue to follow your feelings and I will follow the facts.
